Had a look and the number belongs to ESURE Car and Home Insurance, they use a few different endings like 7871 and 7874. It’s definitely ESURE, kind of a catchy name when you think about it. I can confirm this is a legit BT landline, so if you’re worried, it’s really from Esure. Just to be clear, It’s Insurance, not something else. I’m marking this as SAFE.

I’ve just called both numbers mentioned and they seem legit, like I said before it’s esure insurance. I heard the exact same messages when I rang, so nothing looks dodgy so far. I’m gonna try a few more numbers to check if it’s all the same thing. It’s a bit worrying with all this going on, I’m staying neutral since I don’t really like calling numbers these days, you can’t be too careful now.

The number 0345 603 7874 is for esure’s customer service, no doubt about it. I’ve had a few problems with them trying to charge me a higher cancellation fee for my car insurance than originally told. I’ve got a letter from them that shows this number, and it’s the only one I’ve ever called. Just today, they emailed me about a refund they’re sorting out for me, which I actually spoke to them about last week on the phone. They asked me to ring the same number again. So yeah, this isn’t some scam pretending to be esure - it’s the real deal.

some bloke from e-sure rang up, knew my policy number and all, said my card was out of date. rang the official e-sure renewal line and they said my account was all fine.

some bloke ringing me up saying he was from e-sure, telling me to update my payment details. i wasn't about to do it straight away, and he gave me a number to ring back. i looked up the real e-sure contact, which was different, and they told me everything was fine with my policy. sounds like one of those scams that seem legit - he even knew my renewal date, insurer and my name.
