Just a straightforward appeal, please pick up the phone. If you keep us hanging, how are we supposed to find the cash to settle those phone bills after spending an average of 40 minutes on hold for 10 calls a week? It’s quite baffling how the government can believe you're providing any sort of decent service. Perhaps they should give it a go themselves and experience the frustration firsthand!

It’s been around six to eight weeks since my child tax credits have halted. I received a correspondence from Concentrix requesting documentation such as utility bills to verify that I’m residing alone with my two youngsters. In a state of panic, I dispatched the documents without even making copies, under the impression they would be returned promptly. However, I’ve yet to hear anything back. Additionally, I’m in the midst of relocating, but with the suspension of my tax credits, my housing benefit has also ceased. They’ve informed me that assistance will only resume once my tax credits are reinstated. At this juncture, I’m facing the very real possibility of being homeless with two little ones because Concentrix seems to be dragging their feet on this matter.

Oh, what a shock, I'm absolutely not surprised I’ve yet to see that letter they claimed to have mailed out. It seems I’m in good company, as many others share the same experience. As a single mum juggling four little ones, it's incredibly frustrating, especially since I’ve been without tax credit for six weeks. The HMRC are of no help either, insisting that my claim has been handed over to Concentrix, yet I’ve received no correspondence or explanation whatsoever. Honestly, it's absurd! I'm struggling to provide for my children properly. To make matters worse, I had to cancel my direct debit with EDF because I simply can't manage without any income for this long. Four kids to look after, and this feels like an absolute nightmare. Words just don't capture how hopeless this all feels!

I must say, what a right palaver I've had! After what felt like an eternity of 32 relentless calls, only to be met with that infuriating engaged tone each time, I finally managed to reach the automated system. I was left hanging on hold for nearly an hour, 59 minutes to be precise, before I could actually chat with a proper human being. Lo and behold, it turns out that my claim had been put on ice! Apparently, HMRC hadn’t bothered to update their records with the details I provided them two years ago. Utterly ridiculous, isn't it? Absolute muppets!
