I got this number in an email from some scammer who scammed me out of nearly £200 for a hoover that never turned up. They tried to pass it off as a Royal Mail contact to dispute a missing package. Seriously, watch out for these lot (aspirato.co.uk) - they’ll take your cash, might send you damaged stuff, and could even toss you fake tracking details. Always have a look at Trustpilot before making a purchase, and never hand over your Visa details - better to use a credit card or PayPal instead.

I got a call from an automated voice claiming to be Royal Mail, saying I had a parcel that couldn’t be delivered. When I pressed 1, I was connected to someone who said it was an Amazon parcel worth £12.55, and all I needed to do was pay £1.55 to get it released. The person was really pushy about staying on the line to make sure I finished the payment. Then they sent me a link through text to a “Royal Mail” website, which looked legit but was actually a phishing site designed to steal personal info like card details. The site’s pages didn’t load properly if you clicked around, and the URL wasn’t the official Royal Mail’s. Since I bank with Nationwide, which has good fraud protection, I pretended to go along but didn’t complete the payment. The money wasn’t going to Royal Mail, but to something called “Grafissia”. When I asked the caller about this, she said it was their payment processor, like Worldpay. I looked it up and found nothing on it. She got defensive when I asked why it didn’t show up on Google, and then offered to hang up so I could pay safely if I was worried. After pressing her with some more awkward questions, she just hung up. Total scam, obviously.
