I've been getting calls from 0345 559 0001, and I’m starting to think it might be a dodgy number. They never leave a message, which raises suspicions. The last time they rang, it was a claim about my supposed outstanding bill with e-on. Trouble is, I've never had an account with them, having lived in my flat for over three and a half years now. It seems likely one of the former residents might have had dealings with e-on. I did attempt to reach out to them myself, but without an account number, they won't let you through the door. Quite the conundrum, really!

Phoned E-on and they claimed I didn’t have a direct debit set up, even though I made payments that way just two days ago, and the month before that too. I told them what’s going on since I’ve had a direct debit running smoothly for the last five years. They just ignored me and kept pushing to set up a new direct debit, when there’s already one working fine. Then they just ignored what I said and kept repeating themselves. Ended up hanging up.

Some woman pretending to be from E-On called my dad, and he gave her his birthday. That's when I grabbed his phone. She asked who I was, then said she needed some info. I said OK, and she repeated the request maybe three times, speaking slowly like she was reading or struggling to come up with the words. Every time I just said YES, then she suddenly ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Someone saying they're from Eon keeps calling me every day and insists I confirm who I am before chatting, even tho I don't owe them a penny and have already paid my last bill. I've sent them meter readings proving I’m all paid up, but they still won’t come out to actually check my meter. I’m stuck paying estimated bills, and if they ever properly used the readings I give them (which they never do), they’d end up owing me cash. I’ve made it clear I’m not giving out my date of birth or address since it’s an unsolicited call, but they just keep pestering me every single day.

Received a call supposedly from E-On claiming they needed to verify some security details first. I flatly refused to engage. It was clearly an unsolicited call, demanding my birth date and address while refusing to explain the purpose of their inquiry. I've settled my bill, so I see no reason to divulge my personal information to them. Their inability to clarify this just adds to the absurdity. I mean, if it really were E-On, you'd expect better communication, wouldn't you? My past experiences with their customer service have felt like a relentless con game, honestly. I send them my meter readings, yet they choose to ignore them and bombard me with shockingly inflated estimated bills-often five times what I actually use. If it is indeed E-On reaching out, I can't help but label it as sheer harassment. I think I’ll start calling them ‘E-Scam’ instead!

Got a call about 11:07 in the morning on a weekday. I do night shifts so I was knocked out and didn’t pick up. No voicemail left, just some regular breathing and what sounded like a busy office on the other end. Eon have been sending me texts about bills I definitely haven’t got to pay. So I’m guessing this was either them or some company pretending to be them. Honestly, kinda gutted I missed it lol :)

Somebody called saying they were from EON and wanted to chat about an account that’s in a business name. When he asked for my name, I gave him my first name only. Then he asked for my last name, and I asked why he needed that. He said he already knew my name and needed it for data protection. When I told him I’d never given EON my name before, he just said alright and ended the call.
