Hello, I just got a call claiming to be from HSBC saying someone’s trying to pay £6000 from our business account to Watches World. They told me to ring Mr Stephens at 0345 345354 at HSBC, but we don’t even have an account with them! Feels dodgy to me.

Got calls from HSBC credit card collections, bit excessive if you ask me - by 4:30 this arvo, I’d missed 17 calls alone. They just keep ringing, hanging up and calling again in a loop. I reckon I’ve had well over a hundred calls from them this past week.

They call me up like 4 times every day and even send texts but get my surname all wrong! Pretty sure they grabbed my info by linking it to one of my emails. I've told them to stop ringing, but they just keep on going.

Over the past couple of days I’ve gotten half a dozen calls, and every time I pick up it’s a robot asking for my birthday and stuff. I rang HSBC to double check and they said they didn’t know that number and that no one from their side had been trying to ring me. I also asked them to see if my credit card payments were okay and they said everything was fine. Feels a bit sketchy if you ask me.

After brushing off over twenty missed calls, I finally decided to ring back. The first thing they asked was, "Can you provide your credit card number?" I told them I wouldn’t be disclosing that info, and just like that, the line went dead.

They keep ringing me but I haven’t picked up once!

I've had a rather dubious experience with a number claiming to be from HSBC. After giving them a ring myself, I was assured that they don't operate from that number and haven't been attempting to reach me at all. I've taken the precaution of blocking the number, yet they still manage to send texts my way. It’s certainly something to watch out for!

I've gone ahead and blocked this number on my phone, but it still finds a way to trigger a voicemail notification despite not leaving any message behind. Does anyone know how to stop a blocked number from being able to reach my voicemail at all?

Got a call supposedly from HSBC, but they only asked for my full card number, sort code and account number. Didn't bother asking for any security info which I found quite odd. I ended the call since it didn't seem legit or safe at all.

HSBC doesn’t keep ringing you every couple of hours. If anything important comes up, they usually send a notice through the online banking system and ask you to ring them back. Some scammers from India get really nasty if you refuse to give out your card details and all that.

I've been in touch with HSBC, and they’ve made it crystal clear: these are just scammers trying to fish for your personal information and gain entry to your accounts. It’s an absolute con!

Had to block this number after 3 days of nonstop calls. Got like 8 empty voicemails every day plus a few texts claiming to be from HSBC, but they left out part of my surname. Rang HSBC and they checked their records properly, said it wasn’t them and no one had tried reaching me. Better not give out any details, just ring HSBC yourself or better still, pop into your branch directly.

Despite what some of the other comments say, it really is HSBC calling. They’re just checking up on credit card stuff, like payments or if anything’s overdue. They mainly need info to confirm who you are, and I found them pretty helpful actually.

I've been receiving calls from this number twice daily. Each time, there's a pre-recorded message claiming to be from HSBC, stating my name and prompting me to hit 1 if everything sounds right. I haven't engaged with it at all, as it’s pretty clear it’s a scam.

This has got to be some sort of scam, I’m up to date with all my bills but they keep ringing me. I double-checked with HSBC and they told me they haven’t contacted me on either my mobile or landline. It’s quite unsettling that these scammers actually have both my numbers. Best not to answer and ring HSBC yourself, or log in online to see if they’ve sent you any emails.

This number has been ringing and messaging me too. An automated message asked for my date of birth, which I didn't provide, then it connected me to someone who wouldn’t say what department they were from. When I pressed them, they told me to look at the back of my card, claiming they were HSBC. I checked my card and the number on it was the usual 03457 one. I rang HSBC myself and they said they hadn't called me. I’m pretty sure this is a scam.

If you’re moaning about this number being a scam or dodgy and nonstop calling you, chances are you’re a bit behind on your credit card repayments. I got a ring from this number earlier today, it was one of those HSBC chats people mention. I just hung up and rang HSBC myself, turns out I’d missed the payment this month ‘cos I forgot to set up my direct debit again after switching banks. If this number pops up, just hang up, get through to HSBC credit card dept straight away, and sort your bill out.

If it really is HSBC, why dont they leave a voicemail or a name and number to ring back? Would be easier to tell if it's legit or just some scam. Why bother ringing and not saying why? Makes no sense!

IS THIS A REAL NUMBER? A customer popped into the branch asking about this text. When I phoned it, it did sound like they were asking for extra security details, but that’s just to confirm your identity. When I rang, it was about the credit card as said above - in this instance the customer gone over their limit.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HSBC, asking for my sort code, account number and card details! When I asked what the call was regarding, he said he couldn’t say unless I gave them my bank and card info first!!! That's just asking for trouble, like handing them the keys to your money! This whole thing with phone payments feels dodgy already, and calls like that only make it worse, right!?

So I got a call on my mobile from someone saying they were with HSBC. They wanted my account number, but I didn't give it, then they asked for my postcode. When I said I wasn't comfortable sharing info, they told me to ring a number on the back of my credit card. I know that trick - you hang up first, but they keep the line open so the call goes to them. I ended up calling HSBC from my landline, and the fraud team confirmed that my credit card number had been compromised and that they’d post me a replacement card.

this number's been ringing me nonstop for a week as well, like others said. the message says it's from hsbc but the automated voice messes up my name badly and then tries to get me to enter my dob to 'verify' me. obvious scam but quite annoying. calls have slowed down now that ico is handing out hefty fines to these crooks. keep reporting this number (heard they want loads of reports before acting) till ico finally cracks down on it!
