I've reported the incident to Barclays’ Fraud Team and am now waiting for their return call. Interestingly, they found no documentation of any communications with me in my account notes, which is quite telling. My recommendation? Either hang up promptly or, if you're feeling philosophical, engage them in a deep discussion about the purpose of existence.
