Got a couple of calls to my mobile today, spaced out with those weird silences so you reckon it's a real person. Seems like some kind of spam bot. Thankfully, Vodafone’s already flagged it as spam.

I ended up blocking him after he went and verified my address!

I answered the phone and right away it sounded like I was talking to some call centre or something - total spam! I just hung up and blocked the number.

I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t know. After seeing loads of people talking about HMRC scams, I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number. Seriously, don’t hand over your bank info to anyone on the phone. If you’re unsure, it’s best to ring HMRC yourself to check!

I told them I wasn’t giving my name and then they started threatening me, saying they’d report me to an officer with a warrant for arrest! Honestly, I can’t imagine HMRC would handle things like this at all. Don’t hand over any personal info, even if they claim they’re from HMRC or something similar! I’ve just blocked the number now.

Today I got a call from someone who sounded Indian. He said he could help me find a job and asked about my current pay. I've got a call blocker on my phone to stop things like this, but it doesn't seem to be working. Who are these people anyway, and why do they keep ringing? Really annoying, can't they just be stopped?

I don’t pick up calls when the number is hidden or if it’s not showing a name I recognise. Most times, if it’s really something important, the person will leave a voicemail and I can call them back. It’s usually just spam anyway.
