Spoke to RBS helpdesk. Seemed trustworthy and legit.

This number rang me saying they were from the RBS Fraud Department, asking about a transaction on my account that I supposedly didn’t make. But funny thing is, it turns out they were the ones who actually did it just before calling me. I checked by ringing up the official RBS fraud line using the contact info on their website, and they said nobody had phoned me earlier today. Instead, someone had logged into my online banking right before the transaction happened, then moments after, I got the call from this number. Seems like these scammers are tricking people by faking the caller ID to look like it’s RBS calling.

Got a call supposedly from the RBS Fraud team about some dodgy stuff on our Business Account, said it was from Portsmouth or somewhere. The bloke kept firing questions at me, so I played along to see where he was going with it. When I mentioned we don’t actually bank with RBS, he just cut the call! Total scam, avoid them.
