I marked this call as unknown since I never actually answered it. Curious, I looked up the number here and saw other people saying it was a scam. They claimed to be from Halifax and said they needed me to enter a code to complete setting up phone banking. Problem is, I don’t even have phone banking with them, so that was a total giveaway something was fishy.

Total scam! Got a recorded call warning me I'd be jailed if I didn’t hit 1. Didn't bother pressing it, knowing full well it’s likely one of those premium numbers that’d rip me off with massive charges!

Just a heads up, there's a robocall going around claiming to be HMRC, saying they're about to sue you and telling you to press one to talk to someone about payment. Don’t fall for it, this is definitely a scam. Best thing to do is hang up straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC. They already knew my full name which was a bit worrying, then they went on to ask for my house number and postcode. Seemed like a total tax scam to me.

So, I got a call from this woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from Her Majesty's service, and she started going on about me owing taxes. Turns out it's one of those classic HMRC scam calls! These scammers from India like to frighten you by saying you’ve got to pay up or the police will show up at your home within the hour. It's honestly quite frightening if you haven't heard of this kind of trick before!

Lately, loads of folks are getting calls from what sounds like HMRC but it’s actually a scam. They play a recorded message saying you’re being taken to court by HMRC and tell you to ring back and press 1 to talk to some ‘officer.’ It’s been getting a lot of mentions online and mostly seems to be tricking older people. Be careful!

Had a dodgy call on my landline from someone claiming to be HMRC the other day. They were threatening me with jail and wanted payment through vouchers or something. I just told them to jog on and ended the call. Then I made sure to tell HMRC about it so they can try and get this lot blocked. If you get one like that, best to just hang up and report it straight away.

I got a call from an automated voice sayin I was bein investigated by HMRC and told to ring a certain number or there'd be big trouble. Obviously, it was a scam trying to scare you into callin back. If you do, they’ll probably try to trick you into givin your bank info so they can nick your money. Stay safe and don’t fall for it!

Somebody claiming to be a special agent rang me up saying I hadn’t paid enough tax and that they were about to get a warrant to lock me up. They said I should hit 1 to chat with an officer and sort out the payment right then and there. I said no thanks and they just dropped the call.

Got a weird call from a robo voice pretending to be from HMRC saying I’ve got some fraud case on my name. It told me if I didn’t press 1 right then and there, they’d issue a warrant immediately. The number they called from was 0345300004. Proper fishy if you ask me.
