Got two calls from this number today. I rang it back and it was one of those recorded messages from Scottish Power, so it looks like it’s an actual number. Bit annoying though.

I got in touch with Scottish Power about this call, hoping for some answers. Their reply didn’t really explain how these people got hold of my name, phone number, or account info. Honestly, it feels like Scottish Power should be accountable if our personal info is being misused like this. Here’s what they said: Apparently, no one from Scottish Power has phoned me, and I’m already set up with a smart meter. They claim they don’t share my details with anyone else. Plus, the number that rang me isn’t even from Scottish Power. Still leaves me puzzled though.

They told me it's actually a legit third-party company working with them, arranging smart meter installations. So yes, it's a proper call after all.

Got a call from this number the other day, a person said they were from Scottish Power and wanted to book a time to upgrade my meter. So I got a call off 0345 270 0201 and it turned out to be some spam. They left a voicemail pretending to be Scottish Power, asking me to ring them back straight away. When I rang up the real Scottish Power number to check, the guy on customer service said loads of folks had been ringing about bill issues and mentioned the same number. He told me to warn others to block and report it because it’s definitely not the genuine Scottish Power contact.

It sounded off to me, so I looked up the actual number which is 0345 something similar but definitely not the same. Got a missed call earlier today from this number but didn’t pick up since it looked suspicious. After checking the reviews, some folks mentioned it might be either Vodafone or Scottish Power. Right after I saw the missed call, they sent me a text saying just “hello”! No genuine company like that would text something so vague. Feels like a scam using fake numbers. Best to ignore and block it straight away.

They say they're from Scottish Power, but it definitely seems like one of those Smart Meter scams to me. Been getting calls from this number three times over the past week, and every time my phone flags it as a Scam. Loads of people, around 13,500, have reported this number, with about 11,200 marking it as either Harassing, Nuisance or Scam. I'm in North Manchester and have marked it as Harassing myself. With so many others saying the same, surely we can't all be mistaken?
