Got a voicemail from some lady claiming to be the drug agency, said I needed to call back about an appointment. Total nonsense. Didn’t bother returning the call and just deleted the message.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with d.w.p. When I rang them back to check their opening hours, they told me to call again during working hours, even though I was calling exactly then. Somebody rang me from this number and when I asked who they were, they wouldn't say unless I told them my name first. That’s a big red flag if you ask me, sounds like scam territory. I never give my name out first on calls like that. Best thing is to get them to say who they are, then hang up and look them up in the phone directory or online before calling back. Also, it helps to record the call if you can - most mobiles let you do that nowadays.

If the child maintenance agency phones you, either pick up or call back quick, or they’ll turn up at your place! But make sure to dial the number that’s said in the voicemail when you ring back, otherwise you’ll just get more recorded messages and no-one real.

The government debt dept keeps calling me but usually just hangs up after a couple of rings or leaves a voicemail asking me to ring them back.
