Got this dodgy call from someone pretending to be Halifax. They texted me a passcode, then when I rang to say I hadn’t requested it, they tried to get all my personal info. Avoid Halifax at all costs! They bombard you with loads of passcodes, and when you ring them to say it’s not you, the person on the other end sounds exactly like Halifax - definitely a clever fake. BEWARE OF SCAM I don’t even have an account with Halifax anymore but keep getting these dodgy texts. I checked with Halifax themselves and they said those texts aren’t from their official numbers at all. They warn you not to ring if you didn’t ask for any code. Turns out it really was Halifax. I ended up giving them my account number and sort code. They mentioned that someone was attempting to reset my password, which they'd managed to do using my username. Then they offered to swap my username for a random one. After they changed it, I logged back in and saw that my funds were still there, nothing missing, and my username had been updated just like they said.

I got a few texts with a 6 digit code saying it was to confirm some changes to my account, which I never asked for. The message told me to ring a number if I wasn't expecting it. When I called, it went straight to a voice asking for my account or card number, then wanted my sort code and date of birth.
