I've noticed that my BT monthly statement keeps showing charges labelled as "Special Service". Recently, the caller ID claimed to be Direct Line - well-known insurance firm - but it was definitely a fake. I get a different suspicious number appearing every month under this "Special Service" tag. BT eventually refunds me on the following bill, but they can’t seem to stop these dodgy calls from causing charges in the first place.
