I got caught up in a cash-for-crash scam which I reported to West Midlands Police and Action Fraud. Someone called me from 0345 246 3134, a woman named ‘Lydia’, saying she was claiming compensation for a personal injury on behalf of a foreign driver who’d hit the back offside of my car, causing some minor damage. She wouldn’t provide any proper info, and the insurance company she mentioned, Go Skippy (company number 12461259), supposedly doesn’t even exist anymore. When I tried calling that number back, there was no answer. She phoned again yesterday - my lad answered and wrote down some details, but when I tried to get in touch with her after getting home, couldn’t reach anyone. This smells like a total con, so please block this number for good.
