Got two calls from this number on 22nd March 2024, both times an automated message telling me to press 1 to get through. Never heard of Cabot Financial, I’m registered with TPS, so no clue how they got hold of my number. Like others have said, it’s another scam. I’m now at the stage where I just ignore the landline completely and let the answerphone pick up instead. On my mobile, I set it so any call from numbers not in my contacts is silenced. It’s caused a few issues but honestly, I don’t mind. What’s the point of TPS if it doesn’t stop this nonsense?

Got a voicemail asking me to press 1 if I was free “now.” After that, a woman’s voice said the call was from Cabot Financial and to ring them on 0345 070 0116. Had a look up Cabot Financial on Google and it seems they’re a debt collection company. I don’t owe anything and this number’s brand new, so no idea how they got it. They didn’t say my name either. Smells like spam to me. I just deleted the message and will keep ignoring them.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Cabot Financial, saying they’re debt collectors. We don’t owe any money, so it’s definitely a scam. A woman left a message and told me to press 1, but I didn’t. Even if you do owe money, don’t ring back. They say they bought your debt, but from what I know, debts aren’t sold like that. Avoid answering calls from 0344 556 0269 - it’s Cabot Financial using this number to send annoying phishing voicemails out of the blue. They constantly pester with unwanted messages. Best to just block the number and report it directly to the ICO. Don’t get caught up with them!
