Got a call from someone claiming to be with BES, asking for my password. They said they were from BES utilities sales team and were offering energy deals. They told me my contract had ended, which isn’t true. On top of that, they tried to switch my broadband provider without my permission.

Just received a call from this number earlier on this evening, with the individual asserting they were with EDF, hoping to get my consent to renew my energy contract. Strangely enough, it was the first time EDF had reached out to me about anything contract-related. Definitely feels like a scam to me. A bloke with what sounded like an Indian accent rang me on a Saturday afternoon asking for my meter readings, saying he was from British Gas. I asked him to give me my account details, but he couldn’t. Then he told me if I didn’t give him the readings, my supply would be disconnected, saying there was some issue with my meter. I told him I wasn’t convinced it was a genuine call and told him to stop. He ended up raising his voice at me, so I just hung up. When I looked the number up on Google later, it showed Eon.

I recently received a letter adorned with the E.ON logo, which bore a name and an address linked to my residence. The correspondence stated that there had been several incorrect credit checks conducted by a TPI, but thankfully, they’ve now rectified the situation. Interestingly, the name mentioned in the letter was indeed Majid Hussain, associated with a venture called Mega Bites. Quite the peculiar scenario, if you ask me!

He introduced himself as Harry when he gave me a bell from his mobile on 07404 359102. He mentioned something about having me check Google, which sounded a bit dodgy. I decided to keep him on the line for half an hour just for a bit of a laugh. He had the audacity to tell me that my bill was over £500 a month and that he could bring it down to a mere £125 cap. I was in stitches! He quoted me a standing charge of 65p and 35p per unit, which I found utterly ridiculous. After a while, he caught on to my little game and started hurling insults, particularly about my mother and our relationship! Total scam, this was.

Terrible phone harassment. To start with, I wonder if it’s really from Eon because I heard there's tech that lets people show any number they want on caller ID. Then they try to confuse or scare you into agreeing to a contract right there on the call. They might even contact your current supplier to cut you off since British Gas doesn’t deal with limited companies. Haha, don’t agree or say yes to anything. If they want to give me a quote, just send it over or email it!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from E-on, who urged me to search for the number 03450550065. Sure enough, it popped up as E-on's customer support on the first page of Google. This individual was keen to "assist" with our gas and electricity account, requesting not only meter serial numbers and readings but also our bank card information and financial details. He introduced himself as Arman, offering a direct line to reach him back at 0208 144 0512. It's crystal clear - this chap is a con artist. I highly advise against engaging with him or entertaining any of his dubious requests.

Received a call that purportedly came from NPower, stating that they had merged with Eon back in 2006. Quite misleading! The caller then insisted I verify the electricity supply number found on page 2 of my bill, but the number he provided was completely off. Also, the account number he mentioned was incorrect, to say the least. Crucially, I didn’t share any of my details with him.
