Loads of folks claiming this is a scam, but honestly, this really was Barclays calling. I spent about 23 minutes on the phone with them after my card got frozen because they suspected some dodgy transactions. Just like all the others - a right dodgy try to scam me out of my cash. This bloke rang me first from 03450504585, asking about my services. When I questioned why he was calling over Easter weekend from an 0345 number looking for sexual services, he claimed his phone was encrypted and that’s why the number kept changing. Then he hung up and called me back from a different number: 07365 585 555 - 07365585555. The guy's really disturbing, kept insulting me loads, mostly about my job. I’m a sex worker, and he was trying to book a session.

Someone rang saying there was a dodgy transaction and asked for a code from my banking app to "cancel it." Luckily, I knew that code actually lets them move your account to another phone, so I just ended the call straight away.

Received a message from +44 7918 184113 claiming someone tried to set up a direct debit with EE, asking me to reply Y or N. Later, they called back from 0345 (which I checked and it’s a legit Barclays number) but of course it was a scam. They grilled the poor lady with loads of questions, and she just ended the call. They were fishing for personal stuff like my wife’s birthday and mum’s maiden name. This came after my wife got tricked into handing over her bank details because of a dodgy Royal Mail text about owing £2 for a parcel delivery. The Royal Mail site looked proper, until I tried clicking links and the pages just kept flashing. Seriously, be careful. Never give your info from a text or a call like that. Just got a call from this number claiming to be Barclays. When I refused to give them my details, they started calling me horrible names and said they hoped I’d drop dead. Absolute thieves and total scumbags.

Got a text at first, claiming to be from Barclays fraud about a payment to Airbnb. I replied saying no, then got a call from a young lady with a London accent. She asked for my date of birth, but I didn’t share it. I asked her for Barclays’ contact number and she gave me 0345 0504585. When I said I’d ring Barclays to check, she just ended the call!

Definitely not Barclays! Don’t share any info with them! They tried to trick me, then when I reported it, they rang back acting like they were from the fraud department. If you call the number, it WILL say Barclays. I’m absolutely sure it’s a scam because I don’t even have an account with them, and they kept wanting to talk about an account I DON’T HAVE!!!

This scam was quite clever until they asked me to say out loud exactly how many pounds and pence I had in my available balance. No bank would ever use that as a "security question." I told them straight up I wasn’t about to share that info, and the lady got annoyed, said I was wasting her time and then ended the call. She sounded pretty convincing and sounded like she knew what she was doing at first. Watch out folks, these scammers are sneaky and risky - don’t give them any details if this number rings you!

Got a call from a bloke with a south London accent, claiming to be from Barclays Fraud dept and using the actual Barclays fraud phone number!! Seriously, just hang up and call the genuine Barclays fraud team yourself right away!

This lady on the phone sounded really convincing after I got a text warning me about suspicious activity on my bank account. She already had info like my address, making her sound legit. She told me I'd get a 'test message' from Barclays and I had to reply with yes to activate sms alerts for card usage to prevent fraud. Foolishly, I shared my details to get through security questions. While I was 'on hold', they went ahead with their own transactions and pretended the Barclays texts were sent by them, telling me to reply yes to approve the payments.

I CAUGHT ON THEY WERE FAKE WHEN THEY KEPT TALKING ABOUT MY SORT CODE AND ACCOUNT NUMBER, WHICH HAVEN’T CHANGED - I ONLY HAVE A BARCLAYCARD ANYWAY. DON'T PICK UP IF THIS NUMBER CALLS YOU. It actually belongs to Barclays but they never phone out from it, it's just for customers to ring them. Scammers are using fake caller ID to make it look legit. They rang my mum, said her account had been compromised and she had to open a new one and move her money over. Sadly, this was going on before I realised what was happening. I phoned the number myself and Barclays confirmed it's only for people to call them, not the other way round.

Around 8:45pm yesterday, we received a call which seemed odd for a bank to be ringing at that hour. The caller got our name wrong right away so I ended the call quickly. When they phoned again, they started asking questions, but we felt something was off, so we said we’d visit our nearest Barclays branch in the morning before hanging up. A third call came through, but this time we let it go to voicemail. The person hung up straight away and never rang back since. We’ve reported everything to the police now.

This is a total con. They tell you to look up the number to check they’re from Barclays fraud team, then they’ll want you to confirm things like your address and postcode. They’ll ask about your balance too. They’ll say something like, due to Covid, you can’t visit the bank and it’s not allowed to hang up the call. After that, they'll push you to move your money to a different account supposedly under your name. Please stay alert and just end the call immediately.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be Barclays fraud team, sounded pretty convincing and they had my name and card info. They told me they'd stopped a few direct debits, some as much as £199.99, coming from Liverpool. Then they said they needed to block the people using my account by logging into my mobile banking, asking for my activation code and all that. It seemed dodgy, so I rang the number on the back of my card to check, and I'm fairly sure the caller ID was spoofed by scammers.

Scam alert! Someone was pretending to be from Barclays. About a week before, they sent me a phony Royal Mail site claiming I had to pay customs on a parcel and tricked me into giving them my info! Then they said my online banking was hacked. I told the bloke I'd ring Barclays back, and he told me to just google their number since they'd "fixed" it to show as Barclays. I did some digging and told him I'd call later! Rang Barclays proper and it was all rubbish!! Never share your details with these fraudsters!

Honestly, be super cautious! If this number rings you saying they’re from Barclays Fraud Team, just hang up and dial Barclays on your own instead. They’re known for spoofing this number a lot! Keep safe out there.

Someone called me saying my account was at risk and I had to move money into a different one straight away. They were pretty rushed, insisting I had to do it fast because others were supposedly logged in. I got suspicious and said I’d call back later. Then they started asking why I’d do that and claimed Barclays wouldn’t give me any refund. After that, they just hung up on me.

My partner just got a call from this exact number. Total scam!
We rang up Barclays ourselves and they told us straight up that they’d never ask anyone to move money to a “safe” account, and no one from the bank had contacted him tonight about any fraud.

Watch out, it’s a scam! I ended up calling the genuine Barclays after hanging up, and they told me that the number was linked to fraud. Apparently, the scammers can’t actually make calls themselves, so they probably fake the caller ID. They sound super convincing and had already gathered loads of info about me. Just don’t mention your balances or how many accounts you hold - ironically, they didn’t know that part. Whatever you do, don’t send them any money!

This is a scam where they say there’s suspicious activity and want you to transfer money to a “secure account.” Just end the call and if you’re unsure, phone Barclays directly. When my wife got this call, I looked it up and spotted the scam immediately. I told them I’d be calling Barclays myself. They tried to say I’d be put on hold and might miss out. Once I said it was clearly a scam, they ended the call right away.
