This morning, I received a call from a seemingly polite young lady who claimed to be from the Fraud Department at Barclays. She informed me that there had been a transaction at Argos earlier this week for £189.00 - but I can assure you, it wasn’t me, and certainly not my wife. The way she spoke made it sound rather threatening, implying that the 'attempted purchase' might go through if I didn't respond. When I questioned why there was a three-day window for them to contact me, the line suddenly went dead. I've received similar dodgy emails in the past, which are usually quite obvious once you scrutinise the sender’s address. But this phone call is an entirely new experience for me. I felt it necessary to report this incident.
