Got a call from some place in India about renewing my electricity contract with British Gas, said it was for a business account. It’s strange since my husband passed away not long ago and the company never had a proper bank account, plus it’s closing down now. What really unnerved me was that the caller seemed to know where I live.

Got three calls back to back from some foreign voice claiming to be from Opus Energy. They said our contract is up for renewal next month, but we actually sorted that out just last month. Definitely a scam.

Some bloke from India called pretending he was with British Gas trying to renew my contract. Instantly knew it was dodgy, same sort of scam like a different energy company did before.

Had a bloke on the phone claiming to be from British Gas, said our contract needed renewing. He kept mumbling a lot and told me his name was Jack. When I told him his details didn’t match up, he just mumbled again and ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BGas, clearly a scammer. I just started rattling off a fake meter serial like 1234567 and they quickly ended the call. Pretty obvious what was going on.

Some bloke called claiming to be from EDF, saying our contract runs out on January 13th. I found it odd cos I'm well aware we've got almost 3 months to go. I challenged him on the date and he then started going on about Brexit happening at the end of March meaning prices are gonna shoot up loads. He said he could sort me a cracking deal if I gave him some security info. This muppet's rung me twice today already, first time I told him I was tied up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas, wanting to renew our contract even though we sorted it out ages ago. The guy, who sounded Indian, kept going on about the prices, so I just cut the call as it was a total waste of time.

A supposed British Gas rep called me saying they wanted to renew our electricity deal. When I asked the guy, who had an Indian accent, to tell me when our current contract ended, he said 14th March 2019. I knew that was complete rubbish since we’d just signed up for three years. I called him out on the lie and told him I was ending the call because it was a total waste of time. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.
