3 yearsI got a call from this number and also a no caller ID, with someone pretending to be from NatWest. It all seemed pretty legit since the bloke knew some of my info, which I guess he must’ve got from a link I clicked on before. He told me he was from the fraud department and asked me to set up a Revolut account so I could transfer all my money over, including my overdraft, just in case I needed quick access because he said they were closing my online banking and cancelling my card. Then he had me switch pounds to euros and back into pounds on some multi-currency virtual Revolut card. He also made me verify my identity on a bit.ly type of link I had to manually enter. When cash started disappearing from my account, he kept saying it’d be refunded soon and that all this was to trace the scammers. He gave me a fraud case reference and promised to call back before 6pm the next day - which never happened. The next morning I rang NatWest directly and found out it was a scam. Because the money was moved through my Revolut account, I had to reach out to them to try and get it back. NatWest luckily sorted my cards and online banking quickly, so that was a relief. But Revolut’s customer support is rubbish - no phone line for fraud issues, just endless online chats with different people. It’s been super stressful and they say I might not get my money back, plus I’ve got to wait a couple of months for a response. Meanwhile, I’m stuck paying off my overdraft and trying to rebuild my cash.
