Nuisance Calls: Public Frustration Over 03450020020

Introduction

A wave of complaints has emerged regarding the phone number 03450020020, as numerous individuals share their experiences about receiving unwanted and persistent calls from this number. Many victims are reporting a range of issues, from scam alerts to debt recovery attempts, leading to an atmosphere of frustration and concern.

Persistent Nuisance Calls

The comments about 03450020020 reveal a troubling trend of relentless calls that leave many feeling distressed. One frustrated user, who contacted us on 6 December 2024, expressed their concern after blocking and reporting the number but continued to face nuisance calls and voicemails intended for someone else entirely. This seems to resonate with numerous others who feel trapped in a cycle of unwanted communication.

Thames Water Debt Claims

Several users have identified the number as being associated with EP Finance, suggesting a link to Thames Water. On 4 December 2024, one individual recounted their experience, stating they had informed them about the challenges they faced with Universal Credit, only to be met with further calls that they opted to ignore. Another user on 14 October 2024 echoed similar sentiments, claiming that the number was a scam attempting to extract money.

Despite being told they wouldn’t receive further calls, many users continue to receive messages. One user warned about ongoing disputes, suggesting that dealing with these calls needed to be logged carefully for any potential legal action against the supplier, which only adds to the confusion surrounding the calls.

Warnings and Scam Alerts

The prevailing sentiment among the complaints appears to be that the number is part of a scam operation. Comments from 21 October 2024 and 17 September 2024 categorically labelled the number as a "complete scam" urging others to block it immediately. Users have voiced their concerns regarding the nature of the calls, suggesting that they often include requests for personal information and promoting dubious financial services.

Another comment from early August describes receiving an automated voicemail with an unfamiliar name that was inserted into the message. Such tactics have left many feeling disillusioned and wary of legitimate calls. "If they really wanted to speak to him," one user pondered, "wouldn't a human being call?" This reflects a broader critique of automated systems used by such companies.

An Informational Blockade

Despite the numerous warnings and experiences shared, some people suggest a more cautious approach. Back in September 2024, one user recommended not to return calls unless you were aware of your contractual obligations. They hinted at the importance of not sharing personal information, regardless of the nature of the call.

"Do not give away any info about yourself,” they advised. This prudent suggestion may help individuals protect themselves from potential scams but has also raised questions over the appropriate responses people should take when considering whether to engage with such calls.

Recommendations and Advice

A common piece of advice mentioned was to report continued nuisance calls to the relevant authorities. Many callers have mentioned reporting the number to the official agency that deals with unsolicited calls, which indicates a community approach to tackling nuisance communications. The use of the texting method to report to 7726 has also been highlighted as a means to seek assistance.

Additionally, the comments reflect a growing need for greater awareness surrounding financial scams and unsolicited calls in general. Users are encouraged to remain vigilant and report incidences they encounter.

I've gone ahead and blocked this number and even reported it, yet I'm still being plagued by irritating calls and voicemails. To make matters worse, the messages left are addressed to a totally different individual. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can finally put an end to these persistent calls?

Seems I've been duped by a water bill scam, likely to do with Thames Water. I instructed them to reach me on 999 instead. I've decided to block the number and report it to 7726 for good measure.

Got a rather suspicious call this Saturday morning at precisely 10:46 am. I didn’t pick up as it felt a bit off. Gone ahead and blocked the number right away, then did a quick search and lo and behold, it’s yet another scam. Just what I needed! One more number added to my ever-growing blocked list. Many thanks for the heads up!

Received a call from some chaps claiming to represent a financial company. Absolute con artists! It's best to just ignore those calls completely.

I’m absolutely fed up with this persistent scammer. They've bombarded me with calls time and again for weeks now – every time I get the same automated spiel with some fella named Mohammed Amir Hamzah mentioned in it. If they actually had any genuine interest in talking to him, wouldn’t it make sense for a real person to do the calling? It's beyond me what their ulterior motives could be!

It seems that EP Financial might be involved in chasing debts for companies such as Plusnet and possibly other telecommunications providers as well.

EP Financial Advisers? Not a clue who they are. I got a robotic voicemail that had my name thrown in. It prompted me to hit a digit if I fancied a chat with an advisor. I wasn't keen on that. So, I've now added them to my blocked list.

I received a recorded message on my phone, oddly addressed to someone I've never come across before. It requested him to press a button if he was able to chat, and if not, suggested he return their call. They identified themselves as a company providing "financial solutions." Quite curious, isn't it?

This phone number seems to belong to an insurance sales firm of sorts. I received a call from a rather robotic voice urging me to return the call! Quite peculiar!
