Got two calls from this number today. It’s IMFS/Collections Direct (UK), saying I owe money to British Gas, but I’ve never had any bills from them. I’m not even with British Gas! Rang British Gas to complain, and they admitted the debt should be removed, but somehow I ended up agreeing to a payment plan anyway. Still getting calls from IMFS/Collections Direct though. Proper frustrating!

Got calls twice from this number from IMFS/Collections Direct UK about some British Gas debt. Thing is, I’ve never had any bills from them and I’m not even with British Gas. Rang BG to sort it out and complained. They then suddenly remembered the debt and I had no choice but to agree to a payment plan. Still, the calls keep coming through from IMFS / Collections Direct UK. Absolutely baffling!

Got two calls from this number today. They said they were IMFS/Collections Direct (UK) and were hassling me about some British Gas debt, but I've never got any bills from them and I’m not even a BG customer. I rang British Gas to sort it out and ended up having to complain. The person on the line admitted the debt wasn’t legit but still made me agree to a payment plan. Despite that, the calls haven’t stopped - all from IMFS / Collections Direct (UK).

problem is, i dont even get my energy from british gas, never had an account with them at all??????
these lot really need to be checked out and held responsible for their rubbish and unprofessional behaviour.
the worst part is, the people who should care probably dont give a toss.

I've been getting calls from this number on both my landline and my mobile right after each other. The weird thing is, I don't have any British Gas account or anything with them, but they keep pestering me anyway. I've emailed them to stop, and even reached out to the Ombudsman to look into it for me. It's really annoying!

Received a text from this number stating: "Hello, unnamed recipient. There's an issue that requires your immediate attention. Kindly reach out to me as soon as possible." Followed by the phone number. Quite suspicious, isn't it?

Mostly get calls from IMFS, they also drop messages from CDUK about some debt linked to old British Gas bills. The caller ID usually shows IMFS.

This company goes by the name of IMFS, acting as debt recovery agents for British Gas. Their tactics are quite relentless; I've found them to be rather discourteous and frequently intrusive. Should you find yourself without any ties to British Gas, I would advise you to file a complaint with OFCOM due to their persistent harassment. If you do have a balance with British Gas, it might be wise to set up some regular payments to the account details previously used for settling bills. Be prepared; they have a tendency to leave multiple messages throughout the day, and they’ll also contact you via text. It’s surprising how they can vanish for a few months, only to resurface without fail!

So, IMFS are basically the debt collectors working for British Gas. They can be really pushy, quite annoying and sometimes pretty rude too. I'd say if you've gotta sort something out with British Gas, go straight to them instead of letting these guys tell you you HAVE to deal with their team. If you owe money, try putting some regular payments into the British Gas account they gave you, even if it's only a little. If there's a disagreement or issue, deal with British Gas first. If things get messy, you should definitely report both parties.
