Got a call at about 6pm. The area code looked dodgy, so I picked up and said in German, “Hallo, guten Abend.” The guy wanted to talk to a Mr Flanagan, but I told him “Ich verstehe das nicht” as I hadn’t a clue what he was on about. He asked for Mr Flanagan again, so I replied, “Mein Name ist Adolf.” After that, he just hung up. It was definitely an English guy, not some scammer from India or Nigeria. No idea who this Flanagan bloke is, if he even exists!

Best bet is just keep blocking unless you actually owe them money that you want to sort out. They usually target debts that are really old, like over six years, and trying to chase that money is pointless. But if you do answer or promise to pay, then the six year limit restarts. So my advice? Don’t say anything, just block and ignore them. That seems to work best.

I’ve picked up calls from these numbers before and they always want someone else. I told this Indian guy I’m afraid he’s dialled the wrong number and then he started yelling F off F off 😳. Even after blocking, the calls keep coming.

Cabot Financial hass been ringing me from loads of different numbers, and now they left a voicemail too. They’ve been blowing up my phone for weeks, starting off with texts to someone else, not me, saying I owed money which I definitely don’t. This is getting way out of hand and feels kinda threatening now, so I’m moving beyond just calling it harassment.

They phone me like every couple of days 😒 I block the number but then they call back next day from a number that just differs in the last two digits. It’s one of those “press 1” scams for sure!! So annoying! 🤬🤬

Didn’t bother answering and no voicemail was left, but it’s no shocker it’s another number from Cabot Financial. Occasionally they do leave a message, but most of the time they just hang up as soon as my answerphone kicks in. I don’t owe anything and have no plans to deal with them.

I missed a call from this number on 14 Sep 2022 at 19:09. Checked it here and found out it's a scam. Then on 15 Sep 2022 at 09:31, it rang again and I rejected it. They left a message saying "This is a personal call from Cabot Finance. Press 1 if you're free". Gonna block the number now (just played the voicemail to make sure for this review).

They rang me yesterday but I missed it, then called again today saying they’re from Cabot and are after a Mr Black. I’ve no idea who that is, and supposedly he gave my mobile as a contact number. When I tell them there’s no Mr Black at my place, they start asking stuff, but I just end the call. If they’re genuinely from Cabot, they should have other ways to get hold of him like email or his address, assuming he’s not just a fake name.

Got a voicemail with a recorded message. Couldn't quite make out the company's name, but they wanted me to press 1 if I was free. I didn't press anything and just ended the call.

They kept ringing me on my home phone, which I hardly ever use or give out. They said they were from Cabort Financial and told me to press one. I've never heard of them and didn’t give my number to anyone like that. It feels quite creepy, honestly.

Called my lad’s mobile and FYI, he’s only 11 YEARS OLD! I’m really annoyed, he only has this phone for school bus stuff and emergencies to say he’s alright. It’s just crazy, these calls clearly show they’re scammers. What kind of person rings a child that young? The site says they called loads of people - how do they keep getting it wrong so often? You don’t make the same mistake that many times. Don’t be daft, just block and report this number!

Cabot Financial keeps ringing me from loads of different numbers. I block each one and they leave voicemails asking me to ring back. I don't owe anyone a penny so I'm just ignoring them. Might report them to Ofcom, see if they get slapped with a big fine.
