I received two letters, both with pictures of a car, from this number about an ultra low emission charge. I was shocked since it definitely wasnt me. At that time I was somewhere totally else and I’ve never even been near that location. Now I’m faced with a penalty. Total scam!

I never got a call, just a letter about the congestion charge in London. I paid the £80 fine, then a couple months later, I get hit with an ultra low emission charge now totalling £240. Who the heck are these people? I’m heading to the police and citizens advice right now. Sorry for the swearing, just bloody furious. I’m gonna chase this like mad. I rang them, the woman said just forget the £240, pay £80 and it’s sorted. Don’t fall for this lot, it’s a scam!

Got a letter saying I owed a congestion charge for central London. Problem is, I live up in the Northeast and haven’t crossed out of this area all through 2020 and 2021. The phone number on the letter was 03432223333, but I never called it. I’ve told my local Northumbria police about it and they’re supposed to get back to me tomorrow. The letter looked proper official and quite believable but when I checked the number on WHO-CALLED, it’s flagged as a SCAM.

Today I got a message from 03432223331 with GOV.UK at the start saying I owed a penalty notice. I haven’t been anywhere near that so it’s puzzling. The message doesn’t show any address and the number is now showing as temporarily unavailable, which I find a bit dodgy if it’s supposed to be a government contact. Can anyone advise what I should do?

Got an email supposedly from HM Courts and Tribunals saying I owe £23.24 for driving in a congestion zone without paying. The message didn’t mention any car or location info. It included a phone number 0343 222 3331, which when I tried to call was out of service. Pretty clear it’s a scam.

Got an email from HM Courts and Tribunal saying I owe £23.24. It’s about using a car in a charging zone without paying the right fee. If I don’t reply within 28 days from the notice date, the fine goes up to £80.96. If I still don’t pay that, it could be registered as a debt in County Court. I’ve got 14 days from the notice date to pay the smaller fine of £23.24. Tried calling the contact number 0343 222 3331 but it’s not working right now.

This has got to be the work of complete idiots, the number even says unavailable on some “official” paperwork lol. Like I said before, no registration, no address or anything legit, no proper governing body mentioned either. Plus, I got two different fines in different amounts at the same time through separate emails. I’d call it risky but honestly it’s way too obvious to be real.

Got an email from [email protected] saying my car was parked on the drive during a congestion charge time - total charge £23.24. It says it’s for using a vehicle in a charged zone without paying the fee. After 28 days the penalty jumps to £80.96. If I dont pay the higher amount, they threaten to take me to court for debt. The message says I have 14 days to pay the reduced amount of £23.24, otherwise it goes up to £46.48 after 15/10/2020. They also gave a phone number 0343 222 3331 but it’s said to be temporarily down. Cost: £13.24 for driving a vehicle within a chargeable zone without paying the required fee at the specified date and time. If you don’t reply within 28 days from when this notice was sent, a charge certificate could be issued, making the fine rise to £50.96. Not paying this increased amount might lead to the debt being taken to County Court. You’ve got 14 days from the date of this notice to pay the discounted fine of £13.24. If unpaid by 15/10/2020, the full penalty of £26.48 applies. The thing is, I haven’t lived in the UK for years, so this must be a mistake.

You owe £13.24 for using a vehicle on a road subject to a charging scheme without paying the required fee, recorded on 05.10.2020 at 16:24. If you don’t reply within 28 days from the date this notice was served, the penalty may rise to £50.96. Ignoring that charge could lead to it being taken to County Court as a debt. You’ve got 14 days from when this notice was served to pay the discounted amount of £13.24. If it’s not paid by 15/10/2020, the full charge of £26.48 will become due.

Got an email from HM Courts & Tribunals with the number 0343 222 3331 at the bottom. It mentioned something about owing £13.24 for using a vehicle in a charging zone without paying, or else the fine jumps up to £50.96 if left unpaid. They warned that if you don’t pay within 14 days from the notice date, the penalty goes up to £26.48, and failing that could lead to the debt being taken to County Court. Funny thing, right next to that phone number it says "temporarily unavailable". Sounds dodgy to me. Total scam.

About 03 Numbers

Many organizations adopt 03 numbers instead of the pricier 08 numbers. For example, numerous public sector bodies have shifted from 0845 numbers to 0345. The cost of calls matches calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). The cost of calls depend on the time of the day, and most providers offer call packages that permit calls free of charge at specific times of the day. Mobile call costs differ according to the chosen calling plan. Usually, these calls are incorporated in free call packages.
