Got a text saying I had to pay a fine within three days, so I was panicking and kept calling the council and RingGo, but they told me there wasn’t any fine on their end and that RingGo just operates the app, they don’t control it. When I checked the RingGo app myself, it did show a fine. Then I found an email in my Gmail with a link, so I clicked it, but it took me to a dodgy, unrelated website. I live in supported housing and have special needs, so this really scared me. I’ve now sent the text to 7726 to get it looked into.

I got hold of an email earlier today that is clearly a fraudulent attempt from HM Courts & Tribunals Service. The fact that it finishes with @superdeal is a blatant hint that it’s not genuine. Just a heads up to everyone out there! Stay cautious!

I received an email earlier today purportedly from the HM Courts and Tribunal Service, with the subject line clearly marked as GOV.UK. It stated that I was required to settle a parking fine, yet oddly enough, there were no details about the vehicle or the specific location mentioned. To top it off, the phone number provided is currently out of service. It’s blatantly obvious that this is a scam!

This number claimed to be from HM Courts and Tribunals, warning that if the fine wasn't settled straight away, they would start legal action. They gave an account number 950192341223 and said the payment must be made within four days.

Got a call from HMRC today at about 8.50am on my mobile. The number that showed up was +442033253879. I don’t have any other info. They said if I didn’t press 1, I’d get summoned. Can anyone tell me if this is legit? I don’t even have a landline.

Got a dodgy email claiming to be from "HM COURT & TRIBUNAL" about some penalty charge. It had a phone number too that it said was "temporarily unavailable," plus a button to click for payment and threats about what happens if you don't pay the PCN quick. This looks like a proper scam, and I bet elderly folks could easily fall for it and get worried and send money. The number they gave was 0343 222 3331. Seriously, don’t pay anything at all, no matter what!

Got this email today and instantly knew it was a scam. They never mentioned any car registration or where the alleged breach happened. Plus, how on earth did they get my email in the first place? Some scammers are so dumb, thinking everyone’s as clueless as they are. Honestly, I feel bad for anyone who actually believed it and ended up paying.

Just found an email in my junk folder from HM Courts & Tribunals, about a penalty charge. Says I supposedly owe £23.24 for using a vehicle in a congestion zone without paying, dated 18.10.2020 at 16:21. The thing is, I don’t even drive - only use a wheelchair! Really annoyed about this 😠

I got this email too saying I’d passed through a tolled zone and owed money, which made me instantly suspicious because the only toll road like that near me is in Birmingham and I have never driven there. Plus, if you don’t pay on those roads, you simply can’t go any further, so it makes no sense. The letterhead looked dodgy and didn’t fit with the rest of the message. Supposedly it was from the Home Office, but they don’t handle traffic fines. Something about the whole thing felt off, especially since there were no names or proper details anywhere.

Same here, got a couple of emails without any proper registration. One didn’t even have a date or time, just said UK, the other had a date and time but no location. Both mentioned different amounts for the same unclear offence. The phone number they give is always “temporarily unavailable” and you can only pay online. They threaten with county court debt. The letterhead looks UK official, but these scammers don’t issue penalty charge notices - check HMCTS warnings on gov.uk. Definitely going to warn all my friends and family about this.

I received a notice for a penalty charge from the Home Office (ham courts & tribunals), demanding a payment of £23.24 for parking in a paid zone on the 5th of October, 2020. They didn’t even mention my registration number, and to top it off, my vehicle was actually in the garage being fixed at that time. After going through some reviews, it seems this might be a dodgy scheme. I attempted to call the provided number, but it was out of service.

03432223331. Got an email saying it was from this number, claiming it was temporarily out of service!! The message said I owed a fine for driving in a toll zone!! It ended up in my junk mail folder. Reading it properly, the poor spelling made it clear it was dodgy! Still, anyone not careful might easily fall for it. The tone was quite scary, saying the fine would jump from £25 to £100 if not paid within 14 days of getting the message.

Got an email like the rest sayin it was from her majesty’s court about a parking fine. No details about where it was or my car plate. Then it tells you to click a link to pay £23 within 2 weeks and if u don’t pay in a month it jumps to £80. This is the second time I’ve got one of these. DO NOT PAY!! DON’T CLICK THE LINK, IT’S A SCAM!!

This number emailed my missus saying she’d been caught speeding in a charge zone. They’re asking for £25 if she pays now, or £50 if she doesn’t. No details about what car or where exactly, just says it’s somewhere in the UK. Total scam, watch out!

Checked the original message (domain amazonses[###]) Authentication-Results: .yahoo[###]; looks like Amazons email system got compromised and yahoo's bulk mail is all spam, fake use of legit names, some kind of con that keeps showing up with no car reg, no location, no proper verification and dodgy phone numbers. Definitely a scam, wonder how these crooks keep getting away with it again and again, unless it’s some gang from abroad or EU that’s dodging real work proper.

I worked out pretty quick this was a scam - but just to be clear, I never actually got a call from this number. Got an email claiming to be from HMRC saying I entered some toll zone, but there’s nothing like that around here. The email ended with "superdeal" which seemed totally dodgy, and the phone number they gave was this one but wasn’t connecting. Hoping no one gets caught out by this!

I've just received an email regarding a penalty charge that seems rather ludicrous. Amount due: £23.24 The notice pertains to the usage of a vehicle within a designated road charging area without fulfilling the required payment, occurring on the date and time specified below: Date: 17th October 2020 Time: 17:21 Should I fail to respond within the 28-day window starting from the notice date, I risk having a charge certificate issued, which could bump the penalty up to a staggering £80.96. If I neglect to pay this inflated amount, there's a possibility it could escalate to a debt registered with the County Court. I have 14 days from the date of this notice to settle the reduced penalty charge of £23.24. If I miss the deadline of 5th November 2020, I'll be liable for the full amount of £46.48. Penalty Charge Notice Number: YYJ18488219911 Reference for automated payment: 950231341223 Methods for settling my penalty charge: To make a payment via Credit or Debit Card: 1. Click on the link to pay by card online and choose the option to Pay a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). Click here to pay This is the swiftest and most straightforward way to complete the payment and obtain a receipt, as the transaction is credited instantly to the Charge Notice. For assistance, contact the helpline: 1. Telephone 0343 222 3331 (currently out of service) Honestly, what a load of nonsense!

Got this email dated 12/10/20 but only noticed it today, 18/10. There’s no extra info about the registration or location. I tried clicking the payment link thinking I’d get more details but the page didn’t load (thankfully). One obvious sign it’s fake was the spelling errors like “Penality.” Total fee claimed was £23.24 for supposedly using a vehicle in a congestion zone without paying on 05.10.2020 at 16:24. It also warned if I didn’t reply within 28 days of the notice, the fine would go up to £80.96. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got an email about my parking changing but it didn’t say anything about my car’s gov number, seemed a bit dodgy to me. The phone number they gave to pay or they say the charges will increase is 03432223331 - total SCAM, watch out!

This number is totally fake, probably used in those scam emails about bogus parking fines. Don’t trust it!

Lots of people reported gettin this email. It says you owe money for drivin a vehicle in a certain zone without payin the right charge, and warns the cost will go up fast if you dont pay. It's just scare tactics to get you to hit the pay now button. They dont mention my car details, reg number or exactly where this supposedly happened. Dont fall for it, it's a total scam. Just delete it and move on.

Got an email like the rest saying I'd been in a "charging zone where some charge applies" or something, but first off, I was at work so how on earth did my car drive itself? Also, there’s no mention of my reg, car details, or where supposedly this happened? Tried calling 0343 222 3331 and it just doesn’t connect! What’s going on?

I got the exact same email, but then my old dad got it too. He gave me a ring (good job he did). I told him it looked like a scam and to not open or click anything, just bin the email right away. Big thanks to everyone sharing their experiences here 😌😌. And yeah, it showed up at the exact same date and time as all the others.

Who on earth sent this? It says it’s from HM Courts & Tribunals, like it’s a proper court thing. But wait, if I refuse to pay they’re threatening with ‘a charge certificate’ and then County Court. What even is a penality? What’s timestarted? The grammar’s dreadful as well. Why are thousands of people supposedly offending at the exact same time and date? The phone number they gave doesn’t even connect. Plus, the email server that sent this is getting 73% of its emails bounced back. This is 100% a scam.

Received a couple of emails about unpaid fees for driving on a road under a toll scheme. They mention amounts like £13.24 and £23.24 if settled within 28 days, but if not, it jumps to £50.96 and £80.96. Sent from H M Courts and Tribunals and the Home Office. Problem is, there’s no vehicle registration number, road name, location, or owner’s name included anywhere. Confusing!

I got an email claiming to be from HM courts and tribunals saying I owed a penalty charge! The phone number listed matched but when I called it said it was temporarily out of service and there was a link to pay online. No way! This sort of scam should be shut down. HMRC won't send you court papers by email, any official summons should arrive by post showing the date, time, location and a registration number. It's a SCAM, dont send money, just use your brain and make sure to report it to the right people.

Just got a nearly identical email from these dodgy scammers. They make the fine shockingly cheap, thinking people will take the bait. So: What's my name & address? - nope, no details. What offence did I supposedly commit & where? - nothing there either. What vehicle was involved? - I only ride a bike and I don’t drive. Starting to think this is definitely some scam!!
