Some bloke from abroad kept giving me a fake name and kept asking to speak to someone. I told him three times it was the wrong number and that wasn’t me. He just went "no worries, can you do this survey for me?" I told him to take me off the list, said it’s illegal now with data protection rules and all. Then he called me a b### and hung up. Proper rude!

Just got a call a bit ago from someone talking about life insurance but had a thick foreign accent so I couldn’t really understand much. I told them I’d have my husband handle it and then they just hung up. Seems like another one of those spam calls.

Seemed like a call from an Indian call centre - the woman claimed to be from my life insurance firm's 'Review Team'. She kept insisting I needed a review. I kept asking which company she was with, but she refused to say. When I pressed her, she mentioned Legal & General (I haven't had any policies with them in over 20 years). She also couldn't explain how she got my mobile number, which I don't share with anyone and have only had for about a year. No idea what the scam was about, but I’m pretty sure it was one.

Got a call from a guy with a bit of a foreign accent, kinda loud noise in the background. He was asking for someone who used to have the number. We think that person was probably on some dodgy list. Told him no one by that name has lived here for ages and the number was linked to another address years ago. He said sorry and said he would sort out their info.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he's from the “review department”. When I asked which one, he rattled off “royal london, aig, aviva, allianz, loads of firms”. He then asked if my wife's (named) policy was still active “since she hadn't had a review for 2 months.” I told him she passed away 6 months ago and the last review already confirmed that. After that, he just hung up.
