Missed this call but just seeing the number made me wary straight away. Honestly, dont give out any personal details to these types. If they ring and use your name, dont just go along with it, ask them to say who they are and what they want first. Thats the safest way to handle it.

Got a call about some PPI claim. Told them some wrong details just to see what'd happen. They said they only get paid if they win the case, but the fee is 40% plus VAT which ends up being like 60%. So basically you'd only get 40% of the payout - doesn't sound right to me. Definitely not sure I'd go with their fee like that.

Sounds like one of those dodgy ppi calls. When I tried to find out what the refund was actually for, the woman just went all mumbo jumbo on me. I told her I understood what a refund means, and she snapped back, “If you know that, why did you ask then?” I was just trying to figure out what the refund related to, and all she did was start rambling about ppi. Proper frustrating!
