I didn’t pick up but if you do, just ask them right away where they got your number from. Usually, they say it’s from some kind of database. Then ask if they’ve checked GDPR rules to make sure you gave consent. Tell them under GDPR you can ask to be forgotten and demand they take your number off their list immediately. Also remind them companies can get fined 4% of their yearly earnings if they break this law. From my experience, most stop contacting you after that. Some won’t though, so report them to Ofcom and block the number. I’m getting fewer calls like this now.

I picked up the phone and they started talking about some pension payment being a scam, then asked how long I'd been paying into my pension. I told them just six months.
