Got a call from an Asian lady about life insurance. I asked her how she got my phone number and she said it came from my policy. I told her I’ve never taken out any policy and reminded her cold calling’s not allowed anymore in the UK. I also said I’d report her number to the ICO for looking into it. No surprises she quickly hung up after that. Just rang the number back to check it’s real, and it was. For anyone interested, the ICO number is 03031231113 and they’re pretty helpful.

I've been receiving an increasing number of calls like this lately. When I pick up, there's dead air for about 10 to 15 seconds before they just cut off. If I try ringing back, I discover the number is blocked. It's becoming ridiculously frequent, and I’m absolutely fed up with it!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying it was about my Life Insurance. When I asked “who’s the provider?”, she stumbled and said “one of our underwriters.” Pushed her to name which one, but she couldn’t give a straight answer. It was kinda amusing to keep her flustered for a while, but it’s clearly a scam. Best not to share any personal details or info with them.

Said they were verifying if my life insurance was current. When I asked how they got my number, they said from my life insurance provider but couldn't name which one I have. Clearly not aware of the rules about telesales, especially when I told them my number's registered with the TPS. The call should have stopped right then and my info removed. I cut the call off pretty quickly, and rightly so. Watch out, these lot are definitely scammers.

I received a rather alarming voicemail claiming to be from HMRC, insisting that if I didn’t press 1, I'd face arrest! Naturally, I was quite taken aback. After doing a bit of sleuthing online, I checked the number, but interestingly, none of the comments I saw touched upon this peculiar message. Quite odd, wouldn't you say?

This number rang me thrice within just a couple hours. I finally picked up on the third try, and it was some person trying to talk about a life insurance plan I’m not signed up for. Definitely feels like a scam. I’ve reported it to the ICO, and honestly, everyone else should do that too. It’s quick and easy - takes no more than a couple of minutes.

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Somehow I just knew this one was probably some kind of scam. Decided to look it up here (my usual go-to) and looks like others had the same idea. Honestly, if those pesky scam or telemarketing calls just disappeared even a little bit, life would feel a bit nicer for everyone.

Got a ring today from a bloke who sounded quite posh, sounded Indian and said his name was "Mohammed" from some place called U Compare. Never heard of it before, so immediately thought fishy. He started chatting about my home insurance - funny thing is, it’s the second time someone’s done that. I just snapped back, "my home insurance is sorted, cheers, now buzz off with your dodgy nonsense" and ended the call. Felt like a right scam attempt if you ask me.
