Got a call from 03336780225 about supposed pension updates and risks. Took ages to get her to admit who she was working for, eventually said some finance advice company (she seemed confused, like "oh, you mean private insurance?"). When I told her I don’t have a pension, she threw me another number, 03456002537, which I can't seem to track down anywhere, saying that’s where they got my info, claiming it’s a pension database that wouldn't have me listed if I didn’t have a pension. Definitely blocking both numbers now.

Then she started talking about some recent news regarding poor UK pensions. I actually think they’re legit despite what others have said. It’s a telemarketer letting you know about a government-backed scheme that helps people check if they’re getting the best results and lowest fees on their frozen pensions. They connect you with an independent local finance expert who reviews your pension papers and ID, then passes you on to a financial adviser. If I get full confirmation on this, I’ll try to come back and mark them as safe.

I never pick up on these sorts of numbers. My thinking is, if it's important, they’ll leave a message. When I did pick up once, they asked for me by name, but I just ask who it is first. A woman said she was calling from the Pension Audit Office to do a government survey. She knew my name and asked questions about my pension. When I said I wasn’t sure if it was real, she kept trying to persuade me it was legit. I told her I wouldn’t share any details and asked for something in writing - even after she correctly told me my address. She said they never send letters because anyone could pretend to be them! When I was doing cold calls to sell home insurance, not only did I help loads of people save cash with decent policies, I also earned a fair bit myself. I received a call from an Indian gentleman who was quite keen on conducting a survey. He insisted I provide straightforward yes or no responses. When I inquired about the company behind the survey, he claimed it was connected to the government. I politely declined to participate, but his tone turned rather confrontational. A right bother, that phone keeps ringing incessantly, and when I answer, the caller's attitude is nothing short of hostile!

Received a call regarding my pension, which I found rather suspicious. I informed the caller that I had absolutely no desire to engage in a conversation and requested that my number be taken off their list. I explained that my number had unfortunately been acquired by a scammer and thus, he must have obtained it from that dodgy source since I don't share it freely. When I pressed him to delete my number, he became rather confrontational, and without further ado, abruptly ended the call. Quite infuriating, really!

So it was a bloke, and he actually knew my name!!! I told him it’s me, then just ended the call. After reading the comments here, I’ve only got one choice left. BLOCKED.
