If you keep getting those dead silent calls or ones where no one's there, make sure you report them to Ofcom. Spammers really don't give a toss about comments here, but they do get nervous when Ofcom gets involved. It hardly takes any time at all to lodge a complaint on their website - like two minutes tops. Your phone provider isn't bothered much since they actually make money by selling caller ID and charging for blocking services.
