Eco-Funding rang me after I got some automated message, I pressed 2 since hitting 9 didn’t stop the bother. Spoke to a calm Scottish woman and told her cold calling's against the rules, said it’s harassment, and asked for their company’s name and address because I planned to report them to OFCOM. Weirdly, they just dropped the call. Next time, I might just blow a whistle down the phone, should be a laugh since call centre folks always have those headsets on lol.

They keep ringing us on this number and on 03336 780121 too. Mostly it shows up as a missed call and we’ve had at least 5 calls on the first and 4 on the second. We usually miss them cause we’re out walking the dogs or just not around, but today my husband picked up at about 5:45 pm on 9 March. The caller claimed to be from some Eco company. My husband told them to stop calling as we’re not interested, and then they just hung up on him.

For anyone saying they pressed 9 and still get the calls - that’s exactly why you’re getting them! These firms use autodiallers that ring loads of numbers, including ones that are no longer active or belong to someone else. If you respond, it signals to them that the number’s real and someone’s there, so they flag you as a target. It’s not meant to take you off their list, but the opposite. Best thing is don’t answer or engage with these pest calls at all. Even better, get yourself a call blocker like t#### to stop them dead in their tracks.

After being away for a few days, my voicemail was clogged up with these calls. Pressing 9 didn’t stop them. I called option 2 and asked the person to take me off their list. Still, the calls kept coming. I told them I don’t qualify since I’m not on benefits. The last person admitted I wasn’t eligible but said they might ring back if the government rules change in April. I told them not to bother. Even my mates are getting loads of calls too.

Intrigued, I inquired about the purpose of the call, and he mentioned something about funds from the Government being available for home upgrades, claiming he wanted to inform me of this. I told him, "You've already informed me, so if this isn't a sales call, what is it that you require from me?" He seemed rather taken aback by my remark. I then pointed out that I had not authorized him or anyone else to reach out to me, so I requested that he remove my number from his records. To my surprise, he abruptly hung up. Hence, any future communications from this number will be deemed unlawful.

What works great for me as an older person is using an answerphone that only lets calls from approved numbers come through. I have my phone on "Do Not Disturb," so calls like this show up on my caller ID without ringing the phone. I keep my normal phone with the ringer off, but I can easily turn it on if I’m expecting a call back from the doctors or anyone who might call with a hidden number. This setup has been a real lifesaver for me :-)

Got calls from 07508943140 too. They claim to be some eco funding biz. They kick off asking for Mrs Babbidge, which is a fake name I guess hoping you'll say your real one. They call in the daytime, probably targeting older folks. At best they're annoying scammers, worst just pure harassment. Even registering with TPS doesn't seem to block them.

I've received four calls from this number today alone, not to mention two from yesterday. They've also left a couple of messages on my answering machine, banging on about being entitled to a free boiler replacement - absolute nonsense! This number doesn’t belong to Greenheat UK (the freephone line 0800592321) but rather to Greenheat in Glasgow. I had a conversation with a lovely lady at Greenheat UK who mentioned that they often receive calls meant for the Glasgow branch. She was quite relieved to clarify that they are in no way associated with that location whatsoever.

I've received a fair few calls from this number, and curiosity got the better of me, so I finally picked up. They claimed I was eligible for complimentary upgraded storage heaters through some government initiative. I ended up sharing my details, and they arranged for someone to come round and assess my situation. However, to my annoyance, nobody showed up.

Got a missed call on my home phone. No voicemail or anything on the answering machine. I've just gone and got a call blocker for my phone so hopefully that will sort it. But what bugs me is the earliest review here is from 07/2017 and people are still reporting calls now. What’s the use of leaving feedback if no one’s actually doing anything about it? I get it’s helpful for us as customers, but wouldn’t it be better if the companies behind these calls got fined or stopped from calling altogether?

I’m encountering the same hassle as many others. They ring up, I pick up the phone, and then the line goes dead. Alternatively, I get calls from various numbers featuring a pre-recorded spiel about boilers funded by the government. They rang just before noon, went straight to answerphone and left nowt. These lot ring me every day at all sorts of times, really gettin on my nerves. Surely there’s some way to stop these annoying calls, there’s rules for nearly every ting else!

I was quite taken aback by their utterly discourteous behaviour when they abruptly hung up on me after refusing to allow me to speak to my elderly mother. It makes me ponder whether we ought to extend an invitation to these people for a face-to-face chat, only to confront them directly about being bothersome nuisances - even worse, leeches trying to take advantage of vulnerable older folks - and then promptly show them the door!

When I picked up this call, I was met with a cacophony of chatter and sounds in the background. The moment I greeted them, they just cut the line! It's baffling, really-what's the purpose of making such calls? I do wish I had some sort of gadget to send back their nonsense!

BT lets these calls go through, they should really be blocking them. Instead, they charge the companies making the calls and then try to sell you some device to stop them. BT just ends up winning no matter what.

Got a couple missed calls from this number. Called back and a Scottish lady picked up. I asked why they were calling so much - she said it was from the equal finding centre. When I asked more about what they do and how they got my number, she just hung up.

Got a call earlier today, 15th Dec, from a Scottish lass using this number. She said her name and claimed she was ringing from the equal funding centre. Told her I don't do unsolicited calls and ended the call straight away. I'm registered on the TPS, so I'm wondering how these firms are still getting hold of our details.

I just purchased a BT home phone with this thing called "True Blocker." After getting it sorted, it stops all annoying calls (meaning anything not in your contacts). You can even set it up to block known pest numbers like this one or calls showing as "Unavailable" or from "International" - you can even have it reply with a custom message like "P##s off." Calls marked as "Withheld" might be genuine, so those go straight to voicemail and you can decide later to block them or keep them on your allowed list. Proper brilliant, does exactly what it says!

Honestly, I find myself echoing the sentiments of quite a few others here. What’s the actual game plan behind these calls? You'd think they’d have to fork out something for each ring, irrespective of how clever their mobile tariff is. It beggars belief that anyone in their right mind would entertain making a purchase from these utter nuisances-so why don’t they just vanish into thin air? Or better yet, wouldn’t it be grand if the so-called watchdog OfCom actually intervened? By the way, it seems they’ve got a whole bunch of numbers at their disposal, hoping that someone will eventually bite. Let's be real-if it were a legitimate call, the person on the other end would leave a proper message. Just let your answering machine do its thing and brew yourself a nice cuppa instead!

I had a rather peculiar call today. They enquired if I was in the market for a new boiler. Upon mentioning that my husband is affiliated with the Home Office, they abruptly ended the conversation when I asked for their company registration details. Quite the odd encounter, I must say!

I've been receiving persistent calls from this number, and whenever I answer, it just goes silent. About a fortnight ago, I had a conversation with a woman who began probing about my heating situation. I cut her off mid-sentence, informed her that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and requested her to remove my details from their database. Despite this, the calls continue to come through. What a nuisance!
