No way is this a scam! These calls are from Lowell Debt Collectors trying to track down outstanding debts. Even if you don’t owe anything, your phone number might have been assigned to someone else before, or it could be tied to your address where someone else with a debt once lived. If none of that fits, then it’s probably just Lowell guessing or an error on their part. Just give their main office a ring (you can find the number online), and they’ll take your number off their list. Otherwise, expect to get calls from different numbers again and again. Easy peasy!

Beware of Lowell debt collectors, they're total scammers. I got a letter from them claiming I owed money on my credit card, but my account was still open and in use with the card company. As soon as I saw it, I rang them straight away to find out what was happening. The credit card company told me they never gave out my details to anyone, as my account was still active. I really wish I’d done more to deal with Lowell back then, not sure why I didn’t. My advice? Just block their number, don’t pick up calls from them, and ignore their messages - they’re only after a con.

But out of curiosity, I did call the number back to check, because sometimes the number just isn’t real. This time, when I called, it went to a voicemail with a menu asking me to press something.
