10 monthsGot a text from Lowell about someone who clearly isn’t part of my family. There was a reference number included, so I rang them on 0333 556 5550. I ended up speaking to an Indian lady who asked for my name. I told her I didn’t want to share it since the message wasn’t meant for me. She was quite understanding and promised to take my number off their list within a day.Lowell1 yearGot a letter through the post and weirdly my next door neighbour got the exact same one with the same amount we were supposed to pay. I called them up and they told me it was a bill from way back in 2007 but couldn't even tell me which address it belonged to. They said it was something to do with Littlewoods catalogue. Felt really suspicious to me.Littlewoods2 yearsGot a letter from some debt collection company called Lowell, but it was for someone else. Gave their phone option a try and spoke to a bloke who was pretty decent about it. He sorted it straight away and cancelled the whole thing. Didn’t need me to give any personal details apart from what was on the letter, didn’t even ask who I was. If you’ve got debts, expect that kind of call or letter coming your way.Lowell3 yearsGot a call at work from someone saying she was with Lowell Finance. It was a woman with an English accent who gave the name “Mia.” She insisted on only speaking to the manager and wouldn’t have a word with anyone else. When I asked for her contact number, she couldn’t even tell me the number she was calling from.Lowell FinanceMia3 yearsThose debt collectors from Lowell keep ringing me nonstop.Lowell3 yearsThese people aren’t who they claim to be. True Caller shows the number actually originates from New Delhi, India, not anywhere in the UK. They ring me up every morning at like 6am. They’re using some kind of VoIP trick to fake their number, making it look like a legit UK number. Proper dodgy stuff.TrueCallerNew DelhiIndiaUK3 yearsGoogle says this number belongs to Lowell Financial Ltd.GoogleLowell Financial Ltd3 yearsI looked up the number on Google and it said it belongs to Lowell Financial Ltd.GoogleLowell Financial Ltd3 yearsThey keep insisting I owe them for a phone with Three, but truthfully, I’ve never even had a contract or phone with them before. She said I need to ring them back quickly or they’ll issue an arrest warrant. Not totally convinced it’s legit tho, feels weird they’d warn me about arrest in advance? Seems dodgy to me.Victoria WhiteNational Crime Agency6 yearsLooks like the national crime agency has me in their sights as well!National Crime Agency6 yearslooks like a debt collector trying to drum up clients. pretty sure it’s a scam given all the usual signs.7 yearsThis company kept ringing me up asking for someone I’ve never heard of. They started pressing for personal details, so I told them about the Data Protection Act and demanded they take me off their list. I even gave them a buzz later just to confirm I was no longer getting calls from them. Their excuse was something about making sure I hadn’t received any letters from them, but it all seemed a bit dodgy to me. If they keep pestering me, I’m definitely reporting them to both the FCA and ICO. They’ve called way too many times already.FCAICO8 yearsDont pick up the phone if its one of those calls asking for your details to get cash... its a scam!9 yearsJust got a ring from this number. The caller went straight into his usual call centre spiel, asking who I was and if he was speaking to whoever. I cut him off and asked straight up who he was. He told me the name and number of the company - Lowell Financial - so I googled it. There’s a legitimate company with that name, but obviously I can’t be sure he was actually from there. Once I didn’t play along, he got annoyed and kept trying to wriggle out with excuses, probably using some kind of recorded lines. Eventually, he just hung up on me.Lowell FinancialSubmit Your Own Report (0333 556 5550)
