This number keeps ringing me loads, sometimes up to 5 calls a day. They seem to have loads of similar endings, so I’m always having to block new ones.

Got a call from this number again today. Its not the first occasion either. I didn’t answer cos I suspected it might be a scam or some annoying cold caller. Seriously, why can’t the Government do something to block these bother calls? I’ve been reporting these numbers to Ofgem, but there’s just so many it’s taking forever to get all the info to them. Why don’t they have a site where you can just dump loads of numbers at once? Would save a lot of hassle.

Got a call from someone called "Orlando" claiming to be from "You Compare" wanting to talk to Mr [Mobile Phone Owners Surname] about a life insurance policy they're supposedly checking on (I don’t actually have one). He said he’s working out of Dakar, Bangladesh and that they use an auto dialler, and that my number was found on some opt-in list. Also mentioned their head office is in Wales named "Compare Warehouse" here in the UK and his manager there is a bloke called Mr Pasha.

He was keen to chat with Mr. [Surname of Mobile Holder] regarding a life insurance policy under review. The irony is, I don't even have such a policy! Orlando went on to say that their main office resides in Wales, operating under the name "Compare Warehouse" in the UK, and that his superior here is a Mr. Pasha. The conversation then took an odd turn when I was transferred to a supervisor named Nafiz Alam, who seemed rather perturbed that I was clued up on "Compare Warehouse." After ending the call, I did a bit of digging and found that in the UK, the business is registered as Compare Warehouse Limited, whose director is indeed Mr. Mohammed Pasha. So, if you find yourself on the receiving end of one of their calls, now you know to reach out to the Information Commissioner's Office with your grievances!

They’ve called me a few times, asking for my private info. They say they’re from a life insurance firm, but they keep lying about their website, which by the way is a scam and doesn’t even exist. They kept pushing me to pay money each month, and when I said no, two different people tried talking to me at the same time to make me pay. They were really loud and kept demanding all my details, which was really unsettling and stressed me out for ages. To anyone else reading, this is a total scam, they steal your info and then charge you later. It’s really risky.

So this bloke Nathan rang from this number, first claiming he was with Carphone Warehouse, then switched to saying he worked for Simplified Digital. He was super pushy, keep asking if I wanted to book something right away. Kept trying to get my card info, even tho I’d already given my address earlier in the call. I told him I wasn’t gonna agree to anything on the phone. Since then he’s sent me three emails and said he’d ring me back at 4. Little does he know, I’ve been in sales for 20 years and can spot all his tricks a mile off. Can't wait for our chat later!

Got a call from some stranger abroad trying to push life insurance on me. Told them I couldn’t afford it with the rubbish pay I get. This guy, said his name was Rihanna or something, was really aggressive and picked the wrong person to bother. Got a call from some insurance lot who knew my name and then asked me how they got it. They said it's all from their system - just pops up automatically. Honestly, every time you fill in your details online, whether you’re buying stuff or signing up for an account, you always gotta click "agree to terms and conditions". Even if you ticked a box saying no sharing with third parties, you’re technically still accepting their terms, which usually include sharing info with partner companies and their affiliates. It’s a sneaky way these rubbish companies get hold of your info bit by bit.

I had an experience with an insurance firm that left me rather perplexed. They inquired about how I came across my details, claiming it was merely pulled from their system. It's worth noting that whenever you enter your personal information on various websites-be it for purchases or account setups-they always prompt you to tick the box agreeing to their terms and conditions, even after you’ve opted out of sharing with third parties. This seemingly innocent agreement often includes clauses that let them share your info with various affiliates and partners. It quickly escalates, and before you know it, these dubious companies manage to acquire your data quite easily. It's rather disconcerting how this all works out, to be honest!

Got a call today from someone claiming to be from Ucompare, asking for me by name. He had a noticeable Indian accent and said he knew all about my life insurance (which I actually don’t have) and who my provider was. I told him I was on the TPS register, and he said he'd add me to it - then just ended the call. Not sure what that was about, bit fishy if you ask me. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.

I totally agree with the advice about uploading your CV online. Ever since I put mine up, I’ve had a constant stream of annoying calls. One more thing to watch for if you’re applying straight to a company like Royal Mail - always make sure the website link is legit. Loads of scammers use fake sites that look real just to steal your info when you enter your details.

They’re a complete waste of time. They had my full name right away but when I asked who it was, they just mumbled some nonsense and ended the call. I tried calling back to mess with them a bit and got stuck on hold music before someone finally picked up. I hung up after that. They’ll tempt you to ring back on their so-called "UK standard rate number" - which is utter nonsense - leading you right into an expensive trap. Heed the warnings from others and simply do NOT engage with them. They operate from overseas and are beyond the reach of our regulations like the Ex-Directory and the Call Preference Service, which means you won’t see a penny back nor can you take any action against them. I received a call on a private number that isn’t accessible to the public, and they mistakenly chose the wrong target this time around; I gave them a proper dressing down! They’ve most likely gleaned your information from your mobile service provider as well.

These scammers are getting really clever lately. They seem to dig through your online info or have your details passed on by someone connected to your job or business records. They’ll phone claiming to be from your Life Insurance company, saying your policy must be updated because your work situation has changed. Then they want you to ring them back on a so-called "UK National standard rate number" - total rubbish - and that call will cost a fortune. Do NOT pick up the phone (like others have said here) and definitely don’t call them back no matter what!
