IF ANYONE HAS GOT A CALL FROM 0333 443 2747 ABOUT A LOAN, PLEASE READ THIS... Early this morning (12-Aug-23 around 9.40am) I got a voicemail with a recorded message telling me my loan request was approved and to ring that number to confirm. Since I’d recently applied for a loan, I decided to call back. When I was put through to a guy, he asked me for my phone number (I kept mine private on the caller ID). They claimed I was accepted for a £5000 loan. I asked who they were and he mumbled something so I asked him to repeat it clearly - then he just hung up. I waited about 10 minutes and called again, knowing full well this was a scam, but I wanted to waste their time and see what else they’d say. I called from a hidden number using 141 before the number and when they asked for my phone number again, I gave it. They confirmed I was approved for £5k and finally told me their company was “INSTANT QUICK FINANCE” based in Coventry. They said as it’s a no guarantor loan and no credit check, I had to pay the first month’s instalment of £180 to prove I can afford it. I pretended to log into my bank but never did. Surprisingly, they already had my bank name, account number, sort code, my name, and even the amount I was requesting! How they got that I have no idea, since the loan I applied for a couple of days ago was with a legit company! Then they wanted me to pay the £180 to a Mr FAIZAN SHAMREZ, account 82060162 sort code 30-66-67, with a reference number 897936. I asked them what loan company would give £5k without doing a credit check. The guy claimed “We do, we trust our loan users.” Loan users? That was when I told him I knew it was a scam and played along no more. He said “Almost had you, but I’ll catch the next one,” then hung up. While typing this, I’ve already had 3 more voicemails from the same number telling me to call them to get my cash. It’s disgusting how they try to scam desperate people like this. Who can afford to pay £180 upfront if they’re after a small loan in the first place? This is sick and I honestly hope karma bites these scammers hard. Poor health and financial ruin on them all - which must be tough if this scam is all they can do for a living. We shouldn’t let these scammers keep on going. The more people who say no, the quicker they’ll go under. Don’t let them “catch the next person”!

I got the same call, seriously, every single word matched what you described. I’d just applied for a loan too, so I almost thought it was legit at first. I checked with my bank to see if anything looked dodgy or marked as fraud, but no warning came up. Then the guy asked me to send a screenshot on WhatsApp proving I’d transferred money to 07520636581. Obviously I didn’t send anything, but I’m thinking about making a fake screenshot just to mess with them and see what happens.

I got this voicemail from them saying I’d been approved for a loan, but I never even filled out any application for one.

Yesterday evening I received a message from the number 7378512395 about a loan offer between £250 and £2000, supposedly for someone named Ross. I didn’t bother opening it and marked it as spam/fraud straight away. Then today, this morning, I got a call from 03334432747 about that same loan, with the caller saying they needed to talk to Mr Ross who’d apparently applied. I told them they’d called the wrong person, then ended the call, reported it as spam/fraud, and blocked the number. This happened here in Lincolnshire.
