Got a call from someone who somehow knew my name, trying to chat about renewing my Legal and General life insurance, said they wanted to save me money. I told her straight up she was a total scammer cos I don’t have any policy with them. I’ve blocked the number, but it’s mad frustrating - this must be the tenth time they’ve rang me. Every time I block one number, they’re calling from a different one. Proper annoying!

Picked up the phone, and some bloke claimed he was from British Gas. He tried to hook me up with a "mate" of his to offer a super low deal. I wasn't having any of it and quickly ended the call, then blocked the number. The very next day, another call came through from a different number. This time, the guy said he was Kevin from British Gas returning my call. Just a heads up - don't hand over any info to these scammers!

If you look up football pools, folks from a certain age will recognise it - you’d earn 1 point for a home win, 2 points for an away win, and 3 points if you guessed a draw score exactly. Loads of people used to win big cash from them. You can still play them even now.

I’ve been part of their stuff for ages and they ring this number with deals and promo info about the pools and Irish lottery and all that. They’ve been going for about 100 years! They do ask for bank details sometimes, but it’s just for setting up a direct debit, all safe and done through your bank. Really decent folks, so don’t mix them up with similar numbers!
