When I mentioned my intention to switch providers, given I was approaching the end of my contract (information they ought to have had), their tone shifted dramatically and they seemed desperate to end the conversation. Quite clearly a scam, if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2 about my contract renewal. I told them I'd ring O2 directly to sort it out and ended the call. Looking it up here, looks like it was one of those scam calls.

26/02/24 - Got a call from +44 333 344 6987 but I just ignored it since I didn’t know the number. No voicemail left either. Looked it up here and happy I didn’t pick up. Blocked the number straight away!!

A bloke rang me about 7:30 pm, said he was after me as he knew my name, but then just dropped the call straight away. Didn’t say who he was, so I’m just waiting to see if they’ll ring back.

Got two calls from this number, one time they said they were from 02, other time it was just silence on the other end.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be O2. I didn’t really want to get involved and told them straight they were not O2 because O2 said they never ring about contracts. They got a bit cheeky and kept using my first name, so I just ended the call.

After looking through the comments, it looks like these scammers somehow get hold of private info linked to O2 accounts... kinda worrying, huh? I’m thinking I’ll try to find out how they do it before losing my temper with them next time.

They said they were from o2 and seemed quite convincing, but I quickly looked them up while still chatting. Realised it might be dodgy, so I kept my replies really brief. After a few things he mentioned, he just said "Everything seems fine on my end, thanks" and hung up. I can’t remember ever having a call with a company that finishes so abruptly!

Someone said they were from O2 but I knew it was dodgy when the guy said “yeah cool anyways what I’m saying is” - no proper O2 rep would talk like that. I pretended to go along with it for a bit but got fed up and just ended the call and blocked the number. Bit scary though cause he already had my name, email, address and even knew what I pay monthly.

Really suspicious lot pretending to be O2, I put the missed call number in and it led me here. I played along and yep, everything checked out. I faked being from BBC Watchdog and the bloke totally freaked out, said he’d get his boss but never did. Best thing is just to block the number.

Got a call from O2 saying they’d got some offers for me as I’ve been with them ages. They said they’d send over a contract but then the call cut off. Later, they rang again asking me to have my bank card handy for a credit check, which seemed odd since O2 already know my info. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

This number rang me earlier today. I didn’t pick up since I generally ignore calls from unknown numbers, thinking they’re probably scams. But I did find it strange that the scammer was claiming to be from O2, especially as I’d just sorted my O2 bill online about an hour before. Could just be a coincidence, or maybe this person actually works at O2 and has a side gig scamming people - hard to say!

Received a call from this number earlier, and the chap on the line struck me as being from Lancashire. He seemed to have all my personal information at his fingertips and inquired whether I shared my home with anyone. Then, quite out of the blue, he proposed I could get a tablet for just £13. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Received a call claiming to be from O2, and they seemed to know quite a bit about me - my name, address, how long I've been with them, and even details about my current phone and the extra account I hold. Just as they were about to talk about some tablet deals, the line suddenly went dead. Quite the peculiar experience!
