I received a phone call from someone claiming to represent Octopus Energy. They inquired if all was well, to which I simply replied 'yes'. The caller then mentioned that I should inform anyone else who rang to erase my number from their records. Not five minutes later, another call came in that bore a striking resemblance to the previous one. This time, the caller insinuated that I might have some 'issues online'. I assured them that there were no such issues, as everything was sorted out and I was just awaiting my first payment to be taken out. The caller expressed regret and said they would remove my name from their list. In hindsight, I do wonder if they were fishing for my banking details. Regardless, I made a swift exit from the conversation.
