Received a text from 03333443059 claiming they were from HSBC, saying there was a £1750 purchase on my debit card at the Apple Store just minutes ago. It told me to ring them back on the same number if I hadn’t made the transaction. I nervously called, but the woman on the line immediately asked for my sort code and account details, which made me suspicious so I ended the call and said I’d ring back later. After that, I phoned HSBC directly through their official number, and they told me no such payment was made, that the message wasn’t from them, and to ignore it. They also said they’d never text about transactions and would only call if there’s an issue. - definitely a scam - do not reply or share any banking info!

I got the identical text a little while ago. Rang up HSBC and they told me it wasn’t from their end.

Just like the other comment, I saw a charge for £1749 at the Apple Store but I didn’t make it. It seemed fishy so I rang HSBC and turns out they’re not involved at all. Don’t bother ringing that number!!!!!!

What really bugs me is how they managed to find out I use an HSBC debit card? Definitely a spam call.
