Every day, I get calls from numbers that are either international or hidden, sometimes twice a day. When they call, it’s always a busy call centre noise in the background. If I let my answering machine pick up, they just end the call right away. It’s really annoying.

I’m on the TPS list and yet these calls about solar panels keep coming through nonstop. Honestly, what’s happening to the UK when they just ignore these rules? It’s getting really frustrating.

On 30th November at about 12:23, I got a call from this number. The person started with the usual line about it being market research, not a sales pitch. I told them I wasn’t interested and mentioned I’m on the TPS list, but he seemed unaware as I guessed he might be calling from India. To my surprise, he said he was actually calling from Glasgow and joked I could tell by his very thick Scottish accent. I asked him, since they claim to be a proper British firm, if he could give me some contact details. He was polite but honestly, his accent was so strong I struggled to understand a single word he said. I’m sure he just moved on to bother someone else after that. If you’re thinking of calling back, remember to put 0147 in front to keep your number private.

On Monday 30th November, just after 1.40pm, I got a call from this number. The person wasn’t trying to sell anything but said that the government was “offering” up to £7000 in grants. I waited for a pause in their talk and then told them I’d had calls from this company before and asked for my name and number to be removed from their database. I just managed to say that before they abruptly ended the call without even saying goodbye. Even though I’m on the TPS list, it doesn’t seem to stop them. This was at least the fourth time I’ve had a ring from them.

So I got a call from this really cheeky bloke who kept yammering on about how he was doing some surveys in my area for his company. Took ages before he finally got to the bit where he wanted to check out my house to maybe put solar panels on the roof. Not like I’m not on the TPS or anything, seems like it doesn’t stop these calls at all.
