03333440541 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03333440541 👆 is reported as a nuisance number linked to numerous scam calls targeting individuals who recently ordered O2 PAYG SIM cards. Callers claim to be from O2, often possessing personal details such as name, address, and date of birth, likely obtained through a data breach or compromised sources. They use high-pressure tactics to sell contract upgrades and request sensitive bank information, including card numbers, which legitimate O2 staff would not ask for over the phone. Many users highlight aggressive behaviour and unprofessionalism from these callers. O2 has been criticised for inadequate protection and possible data leakage. Recipients are strongly advised not to engage or disclose any financial details, to verify suspicious calls directly with official O2 channels, and to block the number to avoid persistent harassing calls.

Loads of scammers have been ringing me, using numbers that look like they start with 02 and begin with 07742, which is sort of strange cause my own number is also an 02 one from years back and starts 07742 but with different last digits. It sounds like the calls might be coming from India! Anyone knows how I can put a stop to this? Cheers!

Same deal here. Got a call from an Asian lady saying she was with O2. She already knew loads about me and was pushing some cheap subscription. I ended the call straight away when she asked for my sort code. Feels like someone inside O2 is leaking info to these fraudsters.

I’ve not requested a SIM card, yet I received a call from them. I let it ring out as I generally avoid picking up calls from numbers I don't recognise. I’m really pleased I came across your comments on this site!

A few days after ordering an O2 SIM card, I got a call from this number trying to get me to sign up for a monthly plan with an offer that seemed way too good to be true. They already had all my details - my phone number, name, email, DOB, bank account holder, sort code, account number, address, the lot. Then they asked for my credit card details to confirm who I was and I said no. They emailed me to prove they were legit, and it looked like a proper O2 email, but I still didn’t trust it. They kept pushing me for my card info, so I just ended the call.

O2 scam alert. I got a pay as you go sim and then got a call from a woman trying to switch me over to a contract sim with some amazing deal. Things got fishy when she asked for my full bank card number for a “credit check”. Honestly, be careful folks. Best to steer clear. Cheers, Muhammad

Didn’t pick up but judging by what others have said, sounds like it’s related to O2. I also recently ordered a new SIM from them, so I’ll be extra careful moving forward.

I ordered an O2 SIM last night and already got a couple of missed calls from them today. They left a voicemail but it was just silence followed by a beep, then it stopped after about 15 seconds. I hardly ever give out my number, only had to put it in for the SIM order. Never had any scam calls before this.

They keep calling me multiple times every day, I pick up and there's just dead silence.

O2 really ought to sort this mess out and look into what's happening. Nearly everyone here mentions that these calls began right after they ordered a sim from the O2 site, me included. These scammers seem to have way more info about you than they normally do when they ring you out of the blue spouting rubbish. The details I put in when I bought my sim through O2’s website must be getting leaked somewhere shady, where these dodgy folks are collecting it all. It’s honestly quite worrying!

I didn’t pick up the call. It kinda feels like the same as other ones here since I recently bought an 02 sim card a couple days back.

Just like everyone else here, I ordered a sim and then got a call about upgrading. They already had all my info like bank details and email, which was weird. When they asked for my card number, I said no. They claimed it was for a credit check, but I told them I’d think about it and asked for details by email. The email looked really legit - something like o2savedbasket, but I didn’t click any links. I then reached out to o2’s live chat and gave them the info, and they confirmed it was a scam.

It was O2 who called after I ordered a SIM, asking for all my bank info. I hung up and phoned O2 back, but honestly, they were about as useful as a chocolate teacup.

I just got a call from someone saying they were from 02 after I ordered a sim. They were pushing me to buy a cheaper sim and then asked for my bank info. When I questioned it, they said it was some kind of ‘identity verification’ and wanted to know the name on my card. Definitely sounds dodgy, so I’m reporting it as a risk.

I got an O2 SIM and this really pushy guy with a South African accent tried convincing me he'd give me a free upgrade. But things felt fishy when he asked for info that seemed irrelevant. When I said I wasn’t interested, he got quite rude. This number rang me again, so I reported it to O2 and they said it's not one of their official numbers.

Bought an O2 sim a couple days back. Got a call from this number claiming to be O2, offering me some sort of deal on the sim, asked for my address and bank info, and even emailed me (they already had my email though). I hung up as soon as I clocked it. Reading through these stories, looks like they’ve been up to this scam for ages. How come the authorities havent nailed these crooks by now?!

I ordered an O2 SIM card yesterday and out of nowhere received a call today which claimed to be from O2! The chap on the line offered me a so-called "free" upgrade to a SIM deal I never even asked about. Initially, he was rather affable, but as soon as I began to ask some questions, his tone shifted dramatically. He even accused me of wasting his time, despite the fact that I hadn’t instigated the call in the first place! My gut told me it might be a scam, yet he seemed to have all the details surrounding my order, including when I transitioned from O2 Pay Monthly to Pay As You Go. I'm a bit baffled, to be honest. Thankfully, I refrained from sharing any personal info or complying with his requests to send him a code. If this was a legitimate O2 call, it’s absolutely appalling that their representative displayed such atrocious customer service!

Placed an order for an O2 SIM card yesterday, and lo and behold, I received an unexpected phone call today - apparently from O2 - with an offer for a "complimentary" upgrade to a SIM plan I hadn't even requested. The chap on the line was quite amiable initially, but as I began to pose a few questions, his tone took a rather nasty turn. He accused me of wasting his time, despite it being O2 that reached out to me! My first instinct was to suspect it was a scam, yet he had all the details of my SIM order and even knew when I switched from O2 Pay Monthly to Pay As You Go. I'm in two minds about the whole thing now. Thankfully, I held back from sharing any personal info or following his urging to text him a code... If this really was O2, I’m appalled at how their representative handled the situation.

I recently ordered some O2 sims and then got a call from this number wanting to change the order. I asked them to prove they were really from O2, but they couldn’t show any ID or verification. So, I just ended the call.

He told me it was O2 like quite a few others here, but honestly he was really rude. I wasn’t sure who I was speaking to at first, but if it’s really O2 calling, they really should hire nicer people. Also, I don’t get why they would be calling me about a sim order I didn’t place. Feels like some scammer who probably got my number from that order or something dodgy like that.

Caller claimed to be from O2. They already knew I had ordered a SIM, had my bank info and security details, and then asked for my card info too. They wouldn't allow me to sort it online or in a shop. I checked with O2 and they couldn’t say for sure if it was genuine. Pretty sketchy if you ask me.

Got an O2 sim card a few days back and just got a call from this number. Didn’t pick up at first but after seeing the comments here, I think it was linked to my order. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now. Sounds like O2’s info is getting leaked somewhere. They really should sort it out.

My Dad got a call from 03333440541 and a woman was on the other end offering a new mobile sim deal from O2. He was interested coz it sounded cheaper. Then she asked for his bank account number and sort code, which he gave. But as soon as she asked for his 16 digit card number, I told him to end the call. He stayed on a bit longer asking why they needed it, but they kept saying it was safe. They already seemed to have his name and address tho, so watch out, folks! If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Best to ring O2’s official number yourself and check.

I also got a PAYG sim from O2 and they never picked up. After seeing these comments, I just blocked the number. Cheers for the heads up!

After I bought a sim card online, I got a call from 02 call centre in South Africa. They went through everything they had on me, even my debit card details linked to my current contract. They then offered me a 1 year deal for just £5 a month, and I decided to go for it.

0333 344 0541 rang me but I didn’t answer. After seeing what others said about it, I’m defo blocking this number. I got an O2 pay as you go sim a couple days ago, so it’s probs linked to that.

I ordered an O2 sim card and the very next day I started getting calls from this number plus a couple of others I don’t recognise. When I bought the sim on O2’s site, I had to enter my current phone number, which is now flooded with these annoying calls. Feels like O2 is letting our personal info slip out. I haven’t picked up any of the calls, but from what others have said here, the scammers seem to have your home address and DOB too - stuff you have to give when ordering the sim. Either O2 sold our details or they got leaked somehow. Proper cheeky.

This number keeps ringing my phone even though I've blocked it and reported it as a nuisance. But HIYA showed me they called again today at 14:17. I never pick up calls from people I dont know. If something's really urgent, they can just leave a voicemail so I can call them back!

I keep getting calls from 0333 344 0541, seems like it’s from o2 or some other big company. It’s obvious that once they get hold of your personal info, it ends up being sold to marketers and scammers who then try loads of tricks to get your bank info. Seriously, never give your bank details to anyone over the phone, no matter who they say they are.

I keep getting calls from 0333 344 0541 saying they’re from O2 or other big firms. Seems obvious they grab your details and sell them on to marketing or scam groups. Then you get loads more calls trying to trick you into giving out your bank info. Seriously, never share your bank details on the phone with anyone!

They claimed to be O2 and wanted my personal info plus bank details to set up my PAYG account, which was already working fine. Their story was all over the place, kept changing and throwing in discounts just to keep me talking and get my banking info. As soon as I ended the call, they rang me back three times. I've blocked the number now.

This scam is super clever, these scammers seem to get your details right after you order a SIM from o2. They request your bank details even though o2 NEVER asks for that on a call. o2 handles payments through their app. They push really hard for you to pay straight away to get the SIM (but you won’t get anything). Just use basic common sense - if someone asks for your bank info on the phone, DO NOT give it and just hang up.

Said he was calling from O2, but after a while he told me it was actually a call centre based in South Africa. They aren’t connected to O2 at all but seem to be gathering info about new pay-as-you-go sim cards.

Got a call saying they were from my bank, already knew loads about me like my name, birthdate and where I live. Then they asked for stuff they really shouldn't like my pin and the last three numbers on the back of my card! Something about it felt off! Watch out!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2 about a sim I supposedly ordered. They kept pushing me to sign up for a contract and get a new phone. The guy was pretty pushy, nearly aggressive, and even asked for my bank details, saying the PAYG sim was only temporary and I'd have to switch to a contract soon or it’d stop working. I’m well aware that’s rubbish. I’ve blocked the number now but watch out, this has all the signs of a scam.

That 03333440541 definitely isn’t an O2 line. Looks like it could be one of those scams. Be careful!

I’ve blocked this number after reading all the reviews here. The calls began once I got an O2 PAYG SIM, so it feels like either O2 is pushing sales hard or someone there is leaking customers’ info. Either way, it’s not a good look for O2, and I’ll be switching to a different provider when my contract ends next month.

I got a call from this number after I ordered a SIM from O2. They told me to text PAC to 65075 to switch providers. Then they tried to sell me some amazing deal but wanted my personal info to set up a direct debit. Seems a bit fishy to me.

I've had a series of calls from this number, all pushing me to set up a direct debit with O2 for a pay-as-you-go SIM card that I've only just purchased. I wasn't interested, so I turned them down. Since then, they seem to think I'm their favourite target, as they've rung me several times. I've now decided to give it a miss and ignore their calls altogether!

I recently ordered a SIM from O2 and then got a call from 03333440541. The person claimed to be from O2 and offered me a special 12-month contract deal. He asked for my card details, including the expiry date and CVV. I didn’t share any info because it seemed a bit dodgy. Does anyone know if this is legit or just a scam?

Yesterday I got a PAYG SIM from O2, and already I’ve had two calls today that I missed. I didn’t ask for a contract, that’s why I chose the pay-as-you-go option. Honestly, this kind of persistent calling feels a bit like harassment.

Yeah, this was totally a dodgy call. She kept insisting that I was fibbing about not topping up my sim regularly. I tried explaining I didn’t need her contract as I barely use my phone, but then she just went quiet on the other end like she muted herself. Had no choice but to hang up. Honestly, I might’ve believed her spiel if she hadn’t called me a liar in the end 😂

When I ordered a free SIM from O2, I didn’t realise I was basically signing myself up for constant calls and messages. On their site, it says if you tick that box, they’ll contact you about your order and other stuff like similar deals and offers. They mention that after you get your SIM and number, you can change your marketing settings or unsubscribe whenever you want through ‘My O2’ or just update your preferences. You can find all the info in their Privacy Policy if you want, but it’s all a bit sneaky really.

I requested a free O2 PAYG sim to test their signal around here before thinking about switching my mobile provider. I put my work phone as a contact, and within a couple of days, I started getting calls on it. Two calls so far, both from salespeople pushing contract deals. Each time, I managed to hang up before they got anywhere. Had a look online and it turns out ordering the free sim signs you up for these calls by default. The idea seems to be grab the sim, tweak your settings, then cancel quickly. Honestly, there’s no way I’ll be going with O2 now, not after this hassle.

An 02 number looking legit? Doesn’t mean a thing these days. Scammers have managed to fake just about every phone number you can think of - banks, utilities, media companies, you name it. They’re clever enough to copy numbers from places where they might find your bank info. Never trust these calls or share any info, not even your name. If you get a call like that, hang up and ring the company directly using the number from your own records. And seriously, just use a bit of common sense!

Yesterday I placed an order for a sim card with O2 but it hasn’t arrived yet. Then today, someone rang me claiming to be from O2, trying to sell me some “amazing, unbeatable deal” that apparently comes with a contract. I decided to ring the official O2 customer service line to check, and they confirmed the number was theirs but seemed clueless about the so-called “promotion”. They even asked if I wanted to go ahead with the offer! Honestly, I was left pretty confused by the whole thing.

I’m really pleased I checked this site out, because the same number has been ringing me too. I recently asked for a new O2 SIM since I’d just ended my old O2 plan 'cause the cost kept getting higher and higher. Switched over to a pay as you go SIM instead, and ever since, this number’s been calling me. Now I know better not to pick up. Thanks to everyone here for sharing the info, it’s been a big help!

So, I got myself a new pay as you go sim this weekend, and then got a call showing as O2. The person on the line was really convincing, trying to sell me a contract deal for £5 a month with unlimited calls, texts, and 2GB of data. I’m not great with phones so I kinda got caught out. Didn’t get any sort of confirmation email at all, so I ended up cancelling my bank card to be safe.

Not impressed with O2 at all. I got a SIM card from them a few days ago and they've been calling me like mad, probably about four times every day. Should've just stayed with giffgaff, at least they don't flood your phone with calls. Feels like they're sharing our numbers without thinking twice - really not on, O2.
