Just got a call from this number. A guy with an Asian accent claimed he was ringing from Three and asked if I was satisfied with their coverage. I mentioned the signal’s quite spotty where I live. He then offered some sort of discount on my upcoming bill because of that. Something felt off, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Interestingly, about a minute before this, the same bloke called me from another number, also saying he was from Three, and that number showed up as being from Guildford on my phone. I blocked that one too, just to be safe.

Then, an Indian gentleman rang back apologising and asked for my name. I asked him for the first letter of my middle name, but he said he couldn’t share that over the phone for security, which was a bit suspicious. Told him to jog on and blocked the number.

Received some bogus letters at my house saying they were from three different scammers in India.

Got a couple of letters today saying I owe money to Three mobile. I double checked with Three via their support chat and they said there’s no account under my name. Feels like they’re faking their phone number to trick people into calling them.

I got a letter pretending to be a bill from 3 network. I called to find out why I got billed since I left 3 back in October 2022. The call went to an automated system that seemed legit, but then my phone showed a “suspected scam” warning. I ended the call. A few mins later, I got a call from 0333 338 1040, so watch out for that number too. It's a scam as well.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, said he was from Three about my mobile account. Couldn’t tell me my own name or any details about me. Total scam, obviously fishing for my bank info. When I turned the tables and played along, he just laughed and ended the call.

My phone showed it could be a scam, but I picked up anyway. "Hi, this is Sam from Currys PC World, how’re you today?" I said, "I’m alright cheers, but why is my phone saying Three UK?" Then they just beeped and hung up.

Someone said they were from Three and then rushed through some "can’t miss" phone offer way too fast. I ended the call before they even got a chance to speak again.

This is a real 3 number, but watch out. Scammers have faked (cloned/spoofed) this number to try and steal your account info. Don’t answer any questions about your account and ring 3 back using the number listed on your actual account paperwork. To help stop these scammers using spoofed numbers, reach out to your MP. Find out what the government plans to do to push phone companies to install tech that blocks foreign criminals from making calls with fake or spoofed UK numbers. The UK Parliament website shows you how to contact your MP. The reply you get will be quite eye-opening!

I saw this old number pop up in my recent calls. Checked it here and it clicked who it was. It’s a legit 3 contact I rang a couple weeks ago (the customer service number they listed on my bill). An Indian-accented lady answered and initially tried to convince me not to leave 3, but eventually she gave in and cancelled my contract.

They said it was just a marketing call but then went on about how nice my voice was, which totally creeped me out, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

From what I’ve gathered on Google, this number is associated with the 3 network. I've had my fair share of interactions with them, and every time they ring me, they do seem to request some security information.
