I got a call from some bloke with a strong Scottish accent who was talking about my business electricity bill. He claimed to be from Action Energy but was really pushy and came across as quite rude. I was surprised he just ignored the fact my number’s on the TPS list - making unsolicited calls like that is not on at all. I told him straight up it sounded dodgy and told him to get lost. They keep saying that since I’ve recently moved, I have to switch my energy supplier, talking about utility bills and stuff. Some just ask if I’m who they’re after and then drop the call straight away. SCAM ALERT! Some bloke pretending to be from British Gas called saying we were on an emergency tariff. When we told him we weren’t convinced, we got another call shortly after from a ‘British Gas’ number. A guy called Gareth said he was with British Gas and mentioned something about Action Energy contacting him. He threw out a dodgy account number, then just ended the call. Also, they called with no caller ID showing. Very suspicious!

We’ve been getting phone calls non-stop from these numbers: 03333209705, 02031370747, 01254470953, 08000385210, 0125350790, and 08456021111. It’s been going on for about 10 days now with around 6 to 10 calls each day from all sorts of locations across the UK, even ones with local area codes. They claim our energy account has switched from domestic to business, but it’s all a scam. Don’t give them any info and be sure to jot down the numbers they ring from. Honestly, it feels like pure harassment.

Got loads of calls about my electric provider. They found my number on my business site and kept asking if it was for a home or a company. When I told them to remove me from their calls, they insisted on a reason. I just said that’s not my concern and to stop calling. They rang me twice within half an hour, using two separate phone numbers.

Yep, totally agree with what others are saying, they can be a pain, but honestly, they found us an awesome deal for our local, and Natasha was super helpful and sorted us out with better prices than I saw anywhere online. They never asked for any private details to get us started either. All in all, I’m pleased with how it went. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A SCAM.

Got calls from some energy firm, like 7 times over the past few hours, each time from a new number. The ones I caught were 0333 320 9705, 0800 038 5210, 01253 978501, 01254 470953, and 01253 340546. Proper annoying!

This is a classic slow-build scam. They ring you loads of times but hang up before saying anything, probably hoping you’ll pick up eventually. When they finally do talk, it’s to try and sell you something. If you ring them back, you just get told to leave a message for a call back. My advice? Find your nearest police station’s number and let them know about these calls if no one else does anything. Easy really.
