"I've just had a rather unpleasant call from someone claiming to be (person's name) from the Electricity and Gas Registrations Department, Action Energy. They mentioned something about my recent relocation to London, which is quite odd as I'm not even in that city! When I pointed out that I do not, in fact, have a business energy provider or any business premises, they started to argue with me. They refused to share the source of my number, wouldn't provide any way to contact them back, and flat out declined to remove my number from their lists. To make matters worse, they insisted that I would continue to receive calls until I engaged with them, and even threatened to report me to the authorities when I mentioned reaching out to the ICO and TPS about their behaviour. The whole interaction was extremely rude and felt very menacing. Definitely not the way to handle customer communications!"

About ten minutes before the second ring, I had a call from a young woman with a Liverpool accent who just wouldn’t accept my refusal, even had a go at the big energy companies. Eventually, I just ended the call. Then, ten minutes later, a young bloke rang. He was persistent but nowhere near as pushy. After a bit, he understood I wasn’t interested and promised no more calls. I had to mention the Ombudsman complaint, which seemed to quiet him down. Hopefully, that’s the final call we’ll get from them.
