The caller requested to speak with me and then surprisingly inquired if a house was still on the market, mentioning my parents' address. Naturally, I decided to ring them back - I was keen to find out how they had acquired my number. When I managed to speak to a woman and recounted the previous conversation, I informed her that my mum had passed away. She replied, rather oddly, that my mum must have listed my number as a secondary contact. I found this hard to believe, as I hadn’t lived at home for over a year and my mum would have certainly given them my dad's number instead. The call centre staff couldn’t provide a clear explanation for how my information had come into their possession. According to the second lady I spoke to, it had something to do with an online property valuation. She assured me they would take my details off their system, but honestly, I’m left wondering if they actually did.9 yearsI've blocked this number, yet it still manages to come through every single time.
