Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Barclays fraud department, telling me there was suspicious activity on my account and asked me to log into the app. I ended the call, then rang Barclays myself and they told me it was a scam.

I received a rather pushy phone call the other day, with someone insisting that I needed to cough up £10 immediately for my BT internet subscription, or else my connection would be severed entirely. If that were to happen, I’d be looking at a hefty bill of over £200 just to get a new router! The caller was eager to snag my credit card info, but I can't stress this enough: safeguard your banking details! Don't fall for this trickster's scheme.

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT Openreach. They told me I had to pay £9.99 straight away or my internet would go off. Then they said I'd have to shell out more than £220 for a new router. They wanted my Visa debit card info - definitely felt like a scam to me.

I got a call from a place called Max Loans saying I was approved for a loan and needed to give my bank details so the account manager could deposit it within an hour when they rang back. They told me about repayments over a year, but then asked for the first payment straight away to cover insurance before they'd actually send any money. If that ain't a scam, I don't know what is! Surely loan companies don’t ask for the initial payment before you even see the cash - do they really think I'm daft? Of course, I refused to pay and they just ended the call. Since then, I’ve had other numbers ring me asking for upfront fees too!
