Keeps ringing non stop, total harassment. Going straight on my blocked list now.

My phone flagged a caller today as probably a scam, so I just ignored it but then came here to see if others had the same experience and yep, it was a scam after all.

I answered the phone and noticed a slight pause before the person started with the standard “Hello Mr. ******, how’s everything? I’m ****** from ******.” That little hesitation is the dead giveaway. It happens because their phone system is busy routing the call to the first available agent in the call centre. Basically, some computer dials a ton of numbers all at once, and when someone picks up, it connects them to an operator who sticks to a script.

Tried ringing back but it showed up as Feet Land, so I just let it go cause I thought it might be a spam call.

Got a call from some covid department or something - don’t really get what the scam was meant to be but it’s definitely fishy. What freaked me out was they already knew my name! How on earth did they find that out? Proper worried now.

I got a call from a lady with an Asian accent who sounded like she was working in some sort of call centre. She mentioned something about the NHS Covid team but I couldn’t really catch the name she used. I ended up telling her off, said she must be a scammer, and then I blocked her number straight away.
