03332420401 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03332420401 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number frequently impersonating O2, often offering a false 40% discount on phone bills. Callers usually have a heavy foreign accent and attempt to trick recipients into sharing one-time security codes sent via text, which can lead to account takeover or fraud. Many report background noise resembling a call centre and evasive or unconvincing responses when challenged. The number has been linked to repeated calls and aggressive tactics, with some victims receiving texts beforehand. Genuine O2 do not make unsolicited calls offering discounts. Recipients are strongly advised not to engage, share any codes, or provide personal information, but instead block the number and report the incident to official fraud authorities such as Action Fraud.

This number keeps ringing me, but when I answer there’s either nobody there or just a bunch of weird loud sounds in the background. It’s really confusing.

A woman rang me saying she was from 02 and that it was really urgent. There was a lot of noise in the background and when I asked her about my bill or anything specific, she couldn’t really give a straight answer. I ended up just hanging up before the call went anywhere else.

Some bloke with a foreign accent called, saying something about 02 and better tariffs, trying to get me to sign up. I wasn’t having any of it though.

Don’t fall for this, they’re faking being O2 just to get you onto some “better” plan. Definitely not a legit O2 phone number.

Beware, this is a total con. They claim to be O2 offering a better plan, but the number isn’t even from O2. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from 03332420401, bloke with an Indian accent and you could hear loads of noise like a busy call centre in the background. He claimed to be from O2 and asked me how my day was going. I told him straight away he wasn’t from O2, and then he began trying to explain some weird way to prove he was legit. Didn’t buy it, so I just ended the call and blocked him. Definitely a scammer!

Got a call from some Indian call centre saying I could get 40% off my O2 bill because of Covid 19. Problem is, I’m not even an O2 customer so it was obviously a scam. I played along and kept them chatting for about 4 minutes, then when they saw I wasn’t serious they just cut me off. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from 0333 242 0401 claiming I could get a 40% off discount or a new phone. They asked me to verify a text on my phone, which clearly had "O2" as the sender. Amazingly, they already knew my monthly plan, my address, and my postcode without me saying a thing. They even gave me their employee ID and phone number, telling me to ring O2 to check their legitimacy. However, they struggled to confirm my email and kept ringing non-stop to get it. In the end, I contacted O2 myself and they told me it was a total SCAM. Absolutely SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

This is a total SCAM! Make sure you report every scam call or text right away by going to the police’s fraud site. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and find the page on ‘police.uk’ where you can report phishing. There’s loads of info to read there first, so take your time. When you’re ready, enter the scam details, including any links or websites involved. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info unless you’ve actually lost cash. The police rely on people reporting this stuff so they can keep track and hopefully stop these crooks. Don’t ignore it!

Best to steer clear of that call; it’s definitely a dodgy one. The chap on the line had a heavy Indian twang, yapping on about a 40% discount for O2. Don’t be fooled into taking the bait!

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, but it was definitely a scam. They said they could give me a 40% reduction on my bills because of Covid. They kept telling me it was safe and I didn’t need to share personal info. Then they asked me to read out a "security code" I received (it wasn’t called that exactly). I refused. I’ve since found out if you give out that code, they can make orders and take money from your O2 account. Seriously, don’t get caught out by this! If you’ve already shared the code, ring O2 straight away.

Got a call from this number twice. I picked up and all I could hear was silence, then they cut off and tried again a bit later, same deal. Pro tip for these robo-calls: don’t say anything right away. If you stay quiet, the automated system won’t patch you through to a real person. Legit callers will say something quick, but these bots just keep quiet or hang up after a few moments if you don’t respond.

Got loads of calls from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from O2. Problem is, I haven’t used O2 for like six years now. I’m gonna just block the number, it’s obviously dodgy. From what I’ve seen online, they can get pretty nasty if you don’t play along with their script. Best thing is to just ignore, block, and report them straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2 and offering a 40% discount. I told them O2 already have a note not to contact me for marketing. Said I’m on the TPS list anyway so the call’s not allowed. She kept insisting she was from O2 and kept going on. I asked why she wasn’t calling from an official O2 number and told her I’d call O2 myself to verify, then she just hung up on me.

Somebody rang me saying they were from O2, sounded like an Indian call centre. They were offering me a 40% discount on my bill. I told them straight away: first, O2 have a note saying not to ring me with marketing stuff (which is true). Secondly, my number is on the TPS list, so they shouldn’t be calling me with adverts (also true). Then I asked why the number she was calling from didn’t look like a proper O2 number. She kept insisting she was from their marketing team, but I talked over her and said I’d ring O2 myself to verify it. After that, she just hung up.
