Isn't it called the Argos card now, or did they change the name recently or something?

So, today I got a call from Argos pay and honestly, I was sure it was some kind of scam at first. Both people I talked to had English accents which kinda threw me off, and me and one of them ended up having a good laugh about it. Turns out, they’re legit and have offices in Leeds and London. Definitely a real number.

I got a call about my Argos NewDay card because they said my direct debit didn’t go through, maybe a missed payment. Definitely not a scam or anything dodgy.

If thats the number thats calling you over and over, then maybe you've got some debt with them. Nothing fishy about it. Just a new day and they wont stop ringing.

I think it’s from new day credit card company.

This isn’t some kinda scam, people need to chill. It’s probably just a call about a missed payment, maybe for a shop card like Argos or AO, or a credit card from one of their many companies. Just because they ring every hour doesn’t mean they’re ripping you off. Sure, it’s annoying as hell but I’m well aware I owe them cash.

I got a ring from this number just now. When I rang back, it turned out to be New DAY credit services. If you’ve got a store card like Argos, there’s a good chance these are the ones behind it.

Hi there, this phone number showed up in an email talking about credit card payments which I’ve never made or even signed up for (the email was from [email protected]). I wanna report this to someone in charge but have no clue who to reach out to.

I’ve gotten three distinct letters saying I owe over £1800 to ao, but I’ve never had an account with them. The first two were directly from ao, and the last one came from New Day, each saying my account is suspended and I need to make a payment immediately. When I got the initial letter, I rang the number on the statement and was asked to verify my DOB and address, but when I asked what the call was about, they just cut me off. So, I searched the number online and was really relieved to find out it’s a scam. I then contacted the official ao number from their website, and the advisor said they don’t handle payments like this and couldn’t understand why I received those letters. It’s quite troubling to keep getting these, especially worrying about my credit score possibly being harmed. I’m not shocked people might just pay up because the letters look pretty genuine. So far, I’ve just ignored everything but I’m unsure if I need to report it or take action now…

Got a letter today that looked proper official from NewDay and AO about a late payment of £741.00. When I looked up the number, I found this forum and really glad I did. The actual NewDay phone number is just slightly different, only off by two digits. When I rang to check, they tried to push me to an automated banking payment system which I reckon some folks might easily get tricked by. Definitely a scam - steer well clear!

For months I’ve been getting messages, calls, and letters claiming I owe Amazon money, even court papers have turned up. Just today, I found three more letters in the mail from them. It’s clearly a scam, I don’t owe a penny, but they just won’t stop. I’m clueless about who to complain to about this!

I rang this number and they wanted me to give my birth date, but I refused. They claimed I had an account with ao.com, which I don’t. I’m now trying to find a police contact to report this because it feels very suspicious. The letter I got says NewDay on it, and there's a CIFA filed against my address, so something’s definitely not right.

To whoever wrote earlier saying this outfit is genuine - they are NOT. If they claim you have debts with Amazon, House of Fraser, Debenhams, or any other firm, do yourself a favour and ignore them. Instead, contact those companies directly to check if there's any issue with your card. DON'T ENGAGE WITH THESE SCAMMERS.

There’s a whole bunch of companies registered at 7 Handyside Street, like NewDay Ltd and NewDay UK Ltd, that are totally legit. But watch out, because scammers have been using the NewDay name and similar ones to trick people into paying fake debts. They even make fake websites using the real company’s address but false registration numbers. If someone calls or emails claiming you owe money to places like Amazon, House of Fraser or Debenhams, best to just ignore them. Just ’cause the company’s real doesn’t mean the person contacting you actually works there. If you’re unsure, the safest bet is to phone the company directly to check if there’s any issue with your account or card. Don’t ever get involved with these fraudsters!

Just to clear up what I said before, Newday are definitely genuine. I was told by some advisers at Amazon to just ignore them because they reckoned Newday was a con. Turns out they had no idea who Newday were, and because of that I ended up missing a payment. Their calls and letters about owed money are legit. You can actually log in to their site to check your account and pay if you’re unsure. Don’t do what I did and doubt them, it nearly messed up my credit report.

The people from New Day just keep calling, it's so annoying. I wonder why the cops don't step in and stop this obvious scam. There has to be enough proof to charge them with fraud, right?

This number has rung me multiple times claiming to represent Amazon. They mentioned I owe money on a card I've never heard of. Just today, I received a letter from them about a missed payment, but I have no idea what card they're talking about. They've even threatened to damage my credit score. I'm choosing to just ignore anything they send or say. They keep calling themselves NewDay or sometimes N3.

Got a call from this number but the person on the other end wouldn’t say what it was about. They asked for some personal info, which I politely refused to give. They claimed to be from NewDay.co.uk and told me to check the number they gave against the website. When I looked, the number wasn’t listed anywhere on their contact page, so I ended the call. Surprisingly, they seemed to expect me to call them back??? According to their website, "NewDay is a top provider of consumer finance, focusing on UK credit cards."

The last few weeks, I’ve been getting around two or three calls everyday. When I pick up, the person on the other end won’t explain the purpose of the call apart from mentioning something about debt collection. They also refuse to say who they are. They claim that explaining why they’re calling or taking my number off their list would break data protection rules, which I'm pretty sure isn’t true.
