Isn't it called the Argos card now, or did they change the name recently or something?

So, today I got a call from Argos pay and honestly, I was sure it was some kind of scam at first. Both people I talked to had English accents which kinda threw me off, and me and one of them ended up having a good laugh about it. Turns out, they’re legit and have offices in Leeds and London. Definitely a real number.

I got a call about my Argos NewDay card because they said my direct debit didn’t go through, maybe a missed payment. Definitely not a scam or anything dodgy.

If thats the number thats calling you over and over, then maybe you've got some debt with them. Nothing fishy about it. Just a new day and they wont stop ringing.

I think it’s from new day credit card company.

This isn’t some kinda scam, people need to chill. It’s probably just a call about a missed payment, maybe for a shop card like Argos or AO, or a credit card from one of their many companies. Just because they ring every hour doesn’t mean they’re ripping you off. Sure, it’s annoying as hell but I’m well aware I owe them cash.

I got a ring from this number just now. When I rang back, it turned out to be New DAY credit services. If you’ve got a store card like Argos, there’s a good chance these are the ones behind it.

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to bring to your attention that I have received an email from [email protected] regarding credit card payments. However, I have never owned or activated a credit card with them. Given this situation, I would like to report this incident to the appropriate authority. Unfortunately, I am uncertain as to whom I should contact regarding this matter. May I ask if you are able to provide any guidance in this regard? Thank you for your assistance and understanding. Warm regards,

Today, I received a letter from NewDay and AO, which appeared very official, regarding a late payment on a balance of £741.00. However, upon searching for the contact number, I discovered this forum and I am grateful for it. Interestingly, the contact number provided by the letter is only two digits different from the genuine one. When I decided to call and inquire about the situation, they offered me an automated bank payment option, which I believe could easily deceive some individuals. Without a doubt, this is a scam that should be avoided at all costs.

For several months now, I have been continuously receiving emails, phone calls, and letters claiming that I owe money to Amazon. I've even received court orders regarding this matter. It's rather frustrating because it's all a sham - I don't actually owe any money. Yet, these scammers show no sign of giving up. I'm not sure who to report them to! The situation took another twist today when I received three letters in the mail.

During my phone call, they requested my date of birth, to which I declined. They were under the impression that I am an account holder with ao.com, which is not the case. Now, I intend to contact the police in order to file a report about this situation. The letter I received indicates that it is from NewDay. This situation seems highly suspicious, especially considering that there is a CIFAS marker associated with my address. It is evident that something is wrong here.

Please disregard any anonymous posts claiming that this company is trustworthy, as this is not accurate. If you receive calls or messages stating that you owe money to Amazon, House of Fraser, Debenhams or any other company, kindly ignore these individuals. Instead, take the initiative to directly contact the company they claim to represent and verify if there are any issues with your card. It is advised that you avoid engaging with such individuals.

NewDay Ltd and NewDay UK Ltd are legitimate registered companies, along with several others registered at 7 Handyside Street. However, there are criminals using the name NewDay Ltd and similar variations to deceive people into paying for nonexistent debts. These scammers have created fake websites that falsely list the address of genuine companies but misrepresent the registration numbers. It is important to be aware that these scammers are not legitimate. If they claim you owe money to Amazon, House of Fraser, Debenhams, or any other company, it is best to ignore their phone calls, letters, and emails. Remember that just because the company is genuine does not mean the person contacting you is trustworthy. Whenever you have doubts, I advise you to directly contact the company they claim to represent and verify if there is any issue regarding your card or any other matter. Never engage with these fraudulent individuals.

In my previous post, I mentioned that Newday is a legitimate company and that I had misunderstood the advice given by Amazon advisors who were unfamiliar with Newday and incorrectly labeled it as a scam. However, I would like to make it clear that Newday is indeed a real company. Unfortunately, by heeding the advice of the Amazon advisors and neglecting to question their inexperience, I missed a payment which could potentially have an impact on my credit report. Therefore, I urge everyone not to repeat the same mistake as me. If you are uncertain about Newday, you can visit their website, where you will find your account activity and the option to make payments. Rest assured that their phone calls and arrears letters are genuine.

Why is the New day continuously pestering us? Why aren't the police taking action against this clear scam? There must be sufficient evidence to build a case for fraud, right?

I have received multiple phone calls from a particular number claiming to be representing Amazon. However, I do not recognize the credit card that they say I owe money on. Additionally, today I received a letter from them stating that I have missed a payment, but I have no recollection of owning this credit card. Moreover, they have been threatening to negatively impact my credit score.
I have chosen to disregard any further communication from this number. It seems that they identify themselves as either "Newday" or "N3."

I got another call from this number today, but I didn't give them any details since I never do. They claimed to be calling about Amazon, but I decided to search the number online before taking any action. After doing some research, I found that many people have had similar experiences and decided to block them on my mobile phone. Now, I'm planning to do the same with my landline.

I received a phone call from a number, but the person on the other end was not forthcoming about the purpose of the call. They requested personal information from me, which I politely declined to provide. They mentioned being from NewDay.co.uk and advised me to check the number they provided for verification. However, when I searched for the number on NewDay's website, it was not listed under their contact details. At that point, I decided not to proceed with the call. It was strange because they expected me to call them back, but I had reservations. According to their website, NewDay is a respected provider of consumer finance in the UK, specializing in credit cards.

Over the past few weeks, I have been receiving 2 or 3 calls on a daily basis. However, the caller refuses to disclose the purpose of the calls, other than mentioning that it pertains to debt recovery. Additionally, they refuse to reveal their identity. Furthermore, they have stated that providing a reason for the call or removing my number from their call list would violate data security regulations. I am aware that this claim is false.
